Thank you, Skyguy, for understanding and abiding by the rules. Unfortunately there are many who think the rules apply to everyone except them. If I ever see you on your scooter I'll be sure to wave!

You'd have to couple that with a motion detecting targeting system.

You're welcome! BTW, since my scooters are equipped with front and rear lights, I'd consider sneeking on the paths when it's dark except for one thing... You never know if there might be a visually imparred foursome playing with beeping balls!

I patiently sat in my front yard with a water hose turned on (but not spraying). The second the dog stopped to leave me his present, I sprayed him. Three nights of this and that dog would circle around my house.

It's not the most fun thing to do, but it does work and if the owners don't like it, I'd suggest to them they walk their dog somewhere other than on a golf course. Maybe you can get a neighborhood brigade to do this. Poor dog will never want to walk in your direction again.

It really is a shame that some people just can't be responsible. It shouldn't be our job to get them to do what is right, but it frequently is.
LOL, well I admit that at my house in Virginia I had a neighbor who would let his dog (and it was a big dog) dump in my front yard and not clean it (even though we have strict 'clean up after you animal' laws). One day I had enough and scooped up the leavings in a shovel and followed him back to his house and dumped the 'present' in his yard. He stopped letting his dog dump in my yard after that.

I love dogs and have one (a Bichon Frise < 15lbs) that will be residing with us when we move to TV permanently in about 2 years. We are meticulous about cleaning up his messes on walks even carrying a water bottle to dilute the liquid portion.

Walking a dog on the golf course makes as much sense as playing golf at the dog park.

Whenever we take Romeo out for his walks, I carry at least 3 empty bags....just in case. Well, he has NEVER had to p--p during the walks, and bags come back unused (I think they are now two years old...the bags, I mean).

I just know that little sucker is just WAITING for the day I forget to bring the bags with me!!!!!!! Then all of a sudden, I'll be the pariah in TV for having the dog who left the BIGGEST deposit in TV history on someone's lawn!!!!

Right! If they belonged on a golf course you'd have seen Callaway, MacGregor, Taylormade, Nike and other companies make little golf clubs and club sets for them!

Default Dog Walkers

Droppings found on my property I thought belonged to a wild animal until I spotted a dog running free on the golf course. I called the district and you know where that call went. One poster suggested speaking to the owner. The first problem would be identifying the dogs owner. The second, I am afraid is that any owner who will let his/her dog run in TV knows its wrong and doesn't care. A neighbor in MN who his dog roam and his dog liked my grass better than his. And no matter what I did or who I called the dog never was leashed. So I spent many years shoveling and dumping on his steps to no avail and the last day before I moved this guy comes over and laments that it was too bad we didn't get to know one another better????????????

WOW - this certainly is getting lots of comment. Just a wannabe and looking at homes online for a couple of years and reading TOTV, but all these folks who have a serious dislike of dogs makes me think I should not give consideration to the Villages. Some of the comments are unbelievable.

I have a wonderful labrador that goes everywhere with my wife and I -sounds like we would make half of the residents of the Villages mad everytime we would step out out our door.

For me, anyplace that doesn't love dogs cannot be paradise. Glad I read this post before giving serious consideration to a purchase.

Don't worry about these dog "haters" at all. It is not dogs that they hate, it is the people who let the dogs run loose! All dogs must be leashed in The Villages. So when dogs run loose and leave little/big droppings along the way, it is not appreciated, and that's what everyone is complaining about.

Just like any place on earth, there are some folks who don't like animals, or are afraid of animals. But here in The Villages, the majority of people are animal and dog LOVERS! So, please don't let these complaints sway your decision. Come for a visit with your dogs and you will see for yourself that this place is paradise for all of us dog lovers.
