You must have a pass to get through this gate - no button. As a matter of fact not all gate passes work on this gate. If your's does not work The Villages will reprogram it for you. This was announced by The Villages when the gate was installed. There has also been an alleged problem of stolen gate passes being sold to Stonecreast residents. If a gate pass is stolen and reported to The Villages they deactivate all passes with that ID and reissue new ones. This makes the "hot" illegally purchased pass not to work. Thus if at the gate and someone says my gate pass won't work or I forgot my pass I ask to see their Villages ID before I open it for them. Furthermore that gate is very quick to close and almost impossible for the second cart to sneak through with you. It will damage the gate and there are cameras.

Which exact gate at SS? Since when is someone not permitted to enter a square who isn't a resident? Besides there are about 10 other ways to get into SS legally without a gate pass (or even a gate) like just turn in from the parking lot of the mall by 441.

Sorry, sounds like "internet lore" (or fake news[emoji16]). There isn't a gated residential or business area in The Villages that isn't accessible by anyone who has no pass. If 1 gate might be blocked there are probably 3 other ways to enter legally. There are a couple gates in the historic side you need a card but there are 3 others you don't. TV is not a gated (secure) community. Especially the squares.

Just to clarify, I am referring to Spanish Springs entry requiring a pass and not the new formerly "secret" cart path.

Well if it isn't the "secret" gate then there would be no need for someone to give a Stonecrester a gate pass because all the other gates have a "button". Now you can start the conversation about how can they legally get into The Villages by golf cart without using the "secret"gate. I'll help you. One way is to trailer your golf cart here and unload it. Other methods have been discussed here at nausea. FYI we call the secret gate "The Berlin Wall". I don't believe the intent of that gate was to be a secret. It has an interesting history. It was newspaper headlines for a while.

They're just like any other out of town guests. But I don't believe that they can legally have a gate pass.

It's not in SS it's in Orange Blossom Gardens between Paradise Drive and the medical facility.

Guest passes are issued for 30 days periods but no restrictions on number of renewals per year. The immediate family pass for the three county residents are issued for a one year period.

I STAND (actually SIT) CORRECTED! I mis-read the post quoted below. I took it to think the poster was saying the Stonecrest. people he met at S.S. needed a friends pass to get into S.S. So forgive me for my sin! Reading on an iPhone isn't always easy.

I'm glad it looks like it going to work out for the people in The Villages. They already put a paved road in where you go from the new Wawa site to Lowes. We are halfway there. All the old Threads on this issue are closed. They are funny when you look at the resolution VS what people said would happen.
Yes everyone can now rest easily. The path belongs to Marion County. It will be interesting if the county will do any upgrades. I'm glad as I cannot wait to have Coffee and Donuts at WAWA when it opens. Yeepee Ky Yea.....

Those RFI cards used by the Villages are easily read at a distance of about 10 feet with a sniffer.

There are some people in Stonecrest that have legal and I assume Illegitimate cards. Some own property in TV as rentals. It seems a bit unproductive to go to all the trouble of going through the Historic Side and then over the bridge when you can cross right at the hospital and get to Spanish Springs. I'm just glad the path thing is now done, settled, complete. I'm now waiting for WAWA to open. I see the ground is prepared. I hope they start construction soon. I'm also interested as to just what the new Public's is going to be like. I like Kroger's up North and I'm hoping it is on this type of platform they are going to implement.

All the Town Squares are Commercial Establishments. While built by the Developer to help sell homes, are all open to the general public. No pass or Village ID required.

Regular Golf carts are not allowed to cross at the hospital.
Bottom line, stone crest golf carts can not get accross 441 without coming thru the villages private Berlin wall gate and then over the bridge.

Has the State granted permission for a golf cart crossing at that area?

Gee, I struggle to fathom why anyone would buy rental property in TV, live in Stonercrest, only to frequent the squares and paths in TV on the sly?

I know a person can get bigger home for less in Stonercrest, but there is a lot less to do too.

And they can afford a rental property in the Villages where the guests have more to do, than they do themselves?

Why not just buy a place in the Villages and LIVE in the Villages?

Is this the case of the "ultimate tight wad"?
