Default An electric car that wii go 500 miles

Did you see the ad on the Academy Awards for Lucid Air? The are now taking orders for an electric car that will go 500 miles on a charge and will accelerate 0-60 in 2.7 seconds! Only $169,000 MSRP!,

So you're the one that watched the Academy Awards.

A bargain at twice the price.

The problem is still in taking a long trip how do you speed up the charge.

The persons purchasing this type of vehicle will probably have it shipped. Then fly to there destination. An optimal 500 mile drive is probably 10 hours I’d be ready to pull over and sleep. Soon we’ll see car carriers here loading up no big deal except for posts on best transportation/shuttle to airports

It can travel 500 miles no problem on the back of a diesel transport truck! For $169K one could buy a really nice gas guzzling SUV and have enough $$$ left over to buy gas for 100K miles of driving and never have to worry about a battery charge. Let me know when the technology has adequate range and is economical, never mind, I’ll be dead by then.

500 miles is 60% of the trip to visit my in-laws or 40% of the trip to visit my family. 500 miles is a little under half of what I need.

On the other hand, if I could reasonably afford a $169,000 car then I could certainly afford a plane ticket or a driver.

Only 170K, yep that’s affordable for the masses.

Is that down hill or going through mountains? Could pull trailer loaded with batteries. O wait if would take days to charge the trailer up….

When it comes down to 40 or 50K could be realistic. But not going to happen in my life time.

Wonder if you can get the 7500 tax credit? You forgot to add tax and additional deal profit.

Lots of ev haters as usual

Love em or hate em they will dominate the roads in the next 5-10 years and I would expect 500 miles will be the low range soon

people don't realize all electric cars go from 0 to 60 very quickly compared to gas power car. It is the inherited nature of electric motors to be more efficient in acceleration

Oh I’m sorry your right, reading through the threads over the last year or so it appears people love EVs or “strongly dislike” them.

I remember the hype about the SMART CAR.
See a few around but we’re people really that smart?
