It reminds me of people who stop to let a car out from a side street and while thinking they're doing the kind thing forget there are others behind her that equally deserve her attention by just obeying traffic laws and not holding them up so they can do their "good deed".

You could and should have done both things and not look for a reason to blame someone else. How do you know that they didn't have a DR's appt or a sick person back at their house???????
You didn't really mean that, did you?---it's a little unlike you. Besides, if they had called 911 (which might have been a good idea since I doubt any of them were experts in diagnosing head trauma), where do you think 2 fire engines, 1 ambulance, and 5 police cars would have been sitting? I don't think this lady would have told a sheriff's deputy to move. Then again......

As we were attempting to help this couple. a woman came up and said "though I'm sorry about your accident I want to get my car out" Needless to say my husband and I were speechless. I told her I just had to get the man in my car to get him to urgent care. She was already in her car and backing up car by the time we walked over to mine. This couple had been there for a while and commented more than once how many people had passed but didn't stop to help.
The good news 5 staples later and all is well.
The bad news for me. I feel like The Villages has become just like the rest of the world. I used to think we were different::
That inconsiderate moron more than likely had to get to the square to sit in the seat she had saved since 3 that afternoon or let her pet out to do it's business on the neighbors lawn

You did the right thing and she was wrong.

I do take exception to your last sentence. The villages has always been like this with nitwits among us. We have not become something different.

Or maybe she had irritable bowel syndrome. Or maybe she didn't see how seriously injured the person was. Or maybe you are harshly judging this woman you don't even know, based on a one-sided recollection of the incident. Judge not lest ye be judged. Why do so many seem to relish in piling on someone at the drop of a hat?

There are public restrooms in Spanish Springs as well as in all the Villages' town Squares. I highly doubt if this woman was getting to her own kind of emergency. And it sounds like the OP had communicated the need to get this man to Urgent Care right away.

Is there a reason you didn't call 911? ARE you qualified to care for head truma? In your excited state, you could have been in a collision while transporting this person. Hope you have good insurance.

We are moving to the Villages in March. We have been so impressed on our visits by the friendliness and kindness of all those we have met. I think this lady was the rare exception and not the rule. Railcruiser, you represented the spirit of the Villages so well.

She does to me too. The decision to call 911 should be made by the family unless they are too far out of it to make an informed choice. Who gets the bill for the 911 call?? Florida bill aims for fewer billing surprises after 911 calls | Orlando Sun Times

I also think she's the exception. We rented last January, to get the feel of The Villages.

My DH went for his morning run, and was watching golfers. He ran off the curb, spraining his ankle. He was immediately surrounded by folks checking on him, and had several offers for a ride home.

Plenty of good people around. I try to be one of them

I don't agree with this. A lot of people living close together does not bring out the worst in us. I do a lot of work in the NYC area and I have observed the following. The poorer a neighborhood is, the friendlier the people are and the MORE willing they are to help out a person in need. The rich folk don't seem to care about anyone but themselves. It is not a density problem, it is a class income issue. The more people have in terms of stuff they less they have in terms of caring. This is not my opinion, it is what I've observed in the course of 40 years.

You're good people. It doesn't matter where you go, personalities stay the same, only thing that changes are the faces. The Villages is a great place, and even better with folks like you.

I believe The Villages is "Different" but we are not "Perfect"! The general hospitality here seems to be better than most large cities!

No matter where one lives, there will always be difficult people. I'm trying to be nice.

IMHO- I think TV has an overwhelming majority of nice people.

Don't let the small minority, affect the majority. You did a very good deed and it will come back to you.

as a friend of mine always says, "what goes around comes around".
