We just purchased a home in McClure although we initially thought we'd build in Marsh Bend which is so beautiful and peaceful with the walking trails and trees. However, this house is perfect for us and we've already met neighbors who will be moving in. While homes are important, neighbors and friends are what make your experience. We walk/ride bikes...no golf cart yet, and I'm not missing it. Everyone has something that is important to them, so denigrating someone else's choice is mean spirited especially when you don't have personal experience, only hearsay. So meriboo, visit all of the areas, each has something special; rent a place for a period of time to help yourself figure out what is important to you. Develop your own opinions and don't rely on others. Best wishes with your journey!

Those are my thoughts. Am I not supposed to have the ability to offer my thoughts on a public forum? Isn't this forum for sharing thoughts?

Seems to me any statements someone has to offer that people do not agree with becomes "bashing".

No sidewalks, everyone rides, walks, bikes on the road. And everyone seems to have respect for each others' space. As for Fenney and the rest of Southern Oaks, it was mostly still vacant and for sale when we did our Lifestyle visit, with many lots not yet built. I'm sure it's lovely now, and I know of at least one agent who works for the Villages and lives there now, and absolutely loves it there. I think it's all about what you want from your home and your neighborhood. If you want something so new that it's not even finished yet, Southern Oaks is the place to be. You can watch the builds and be witness to its creation with a front-row seat. If you want something totally lived-in, that is in the process of evolution with new slowly replacing the old, OB is where it's happening. If you want to be surrounded by commerce but want your personal space somewhat distanced, I'd say the areas between Spanish Spring and Sumter is choice. If you absolutely need a golf cart upon movein, I'd rule out Southern Oaks for now, and you can always revisit the idea once they finish the roads. |

Then....what exactly is Southern Oaks? Is it a village or an area that incorporates several villages? I thought Fenney was part of Southern Oaks. Now I'm confused more than normal. This isn't good

Exactly.
God forbid we should have to drive through any area not as perfect as our own. Let's circle the wagons.
