I was fortunate to have had an exceptional MLS Realtor, there was never a mention of any area that was negative. At no time did they try to dissuade me from the “new” areas. Only after I had already bought was a casual mention of a prison location.

Why is it that everytime a topic concerning Fenney is posted those of you who do not live here and know nothing about Fenney other than what you read from other bashers stay off the topic and allow those of us who live here to answer the questions. There are only 10 homes left to sell in Fenney until they start building on the 159 acres to the west of here so why not focus your energies on bashing Southern Oaks?

Pretty serious charge being leveled. Not sure how you know or even what kind of posts you allude to, but that's a serious charge.
We are looking for a home with a pool. There were two MLS agents at the open house.

We had just come from McClure, looking at a pool home, and was comparing it with this home. Both agents strongly warned us to never buy there, it was unsafe to use the walking trails. The multiple times a day explosions from the mine, that rattle
D the windows cause furniture to fall over and the massive cracks in the walls, foundation and drives.

The homes are not selling, and they are giving them away. Those that have bought already are just walking away from their homes because they are so unhappy.

I started to laughing so hard I got the hiccups. Informed the lack of professional two, that we have lived here since 2010, that we know many who have moved to the new area, and the only reason We would never use either of them or the agency that they worked for was due to the fear and the lies, they were trying to instill on those who came to the open house, about the new area. Not the first time we have been warned by a MLS.
So Here’s Your Sign.

Standard lots are any lot that does not have a lot premium. For example... a standard lot is smaller with a "kissing lanai". A lot at the end of a cul-de-sac is larger and will have a lot premium when purchasing a new home.

I read about standard lots being smaller in the south right here on TOTV.

Hubby and I walk in our neighborhood in Mallory Square. It is very quiet in the morning and we feel very safe. We don't walk on the MMP as that does not feel safe to us.

I walk my neighborhood, go around Palmer Country Club. Great walk. Really love being close to Sumter Landing. Convenient to SS and Brownwood. Middle of golf, shopping restaurants and I don't need a car.

We listened to NONE of them (nor any of the bashers on here) & plan on buying in McClure, Monarch Grove or Marsh Bend sometime this summer. Can't wait to live down there.
This is the impression hubby and I got when we first drove on 468 down south the see Fenney. We had a very bad feeling about it. We were told by one of The Villages sales people all those undesirable "homes" were going to be knocked down. So far, that has not been done. Those areas look very seedy to us and we do not want to have to pass them when driving to our oasis neighborhood and dream home.

This is not bashing....this is truly how we feel. Anyone who is not bothered by those seedy areas are very welcome to enjoy Southern Oaks and all its absolute serenity and beauty. Just keep in mind what is around your bubble down there.

If cars are coming up behind you, you are walking with traffic.
Wasn't it taught in the first grade to "always walk facing traffic"? For obvious reasons......

Maybe that is true in the wide streets of your neighborhood, but not in Osceola Hills.

In our neighborhood, the streets are narrow and there are cars parked on them and there are always trucks parked for the workers. As a result, people often drive on the wrong side of the street.

We prefer to walk side-by-side on paths where there are no motorized vehicles. At least we know where to go.

This thread has once again devolved into hyperbole and unsubstantiated rumors bashing the areas south of 44. Hopefully the thread will be closed.

.

Same exact thoughts here.

More power to those who love it there and feel they've found their 'piece of paradise'...it's just not for me.

It just goes to show..."Different strokes...for different folks."

A lot of those "undesirable" homes have been torn down, a lot of them have been sold but still stand and are vacant, and most of those that are left are zoned commercial and have for sale signs on them. These are the areas where they will eventually build strip malls similar to those all around The Villages. You can't blame these people for holding out to get the most they can out of their properties, it was the same way in Lady Lake and Fruitland Park where there still stand a lot of "undesirable" homes just beyond Drake Road and all around TV. Just because these people cannot afford to live in a fancy house doesn't make them criminals and as a matter of fact most, but not all, of the crimes reported around TV are north of 44 and especially north of 466, very little crime down here so just keep in mind all of the crime that is surrounding "your bubble" up there. I'm not bashing the northern villages, this is just the way I feel.
