Well said!

Not Fenney. No services and tons of construction for some years to come. It'll be really nice in 2030

I have been here two years next week and can assure you there is very minimal negativity in Fenney, everyone is new to the experience and are enjoying meeting and socializing with the other residents. The new amenities provided south of 44 cannot be found in other villages, if you have dogs there are Veranda Designer homes with fully fenced in private yards, more family pools that welcome your children and grandchildren than anywhere else in TV, i can go on and on. There are parties both large and small on a weekly basis, you can be as social or as private as you want to be, there is so much to do down here that you can keep busy all day long. Don't believe what you read from outsiders, many of them have been bashing Fenney since day one but in just two years it has become the the most populated village within The Villages having over 3,600 residents and less than a dozen re-sale homes and only 10 new spec. homes on the market at this time. It's a great place to live and retire. I am not saying this is for everyone but there are a ton of happy campers down here.
Sorry to disagree with you, the comments are from folks I know and have talked with about living in Fenney. As for a private yard for your dog there are many courtyard Villas with 6’ walls on all sides. As for a FB page on Fenney believe what you see not what you read on FB. I’m glad to hear you like it there my quote was pretty much based on facts. Fenney is not a place I or most of the people I know would want to live.

I agree. I seem to have seen your last sentence used before.

If you are out of butter, there's always your next door neighbor! And once you have to get in your car to go to a restaurant, five minutes or five miles is the same thing!

If I had to guess, I’d say Village Realtors are responding and commenting on the negative quotes posted. For the record I’m located in De La Vista exactly 1 mile from Spanish Springs and Sumter Landing. My wife and I enjoy the true village experience and if we need butter it’s only a 5 minute cart ride to a grocery store.

We have MMT's all around the area that will soon be tied into the old villages, less than 10 minutes from Brownwood that will soon have another large medical facility, they are building a medical complex on Warm Springs just across the turnpike and announced that there will be 4 restaurants in the plaza at 501 and Warm Springs. And you are correct, the comments from those who reside here are all positive.
If your talking the old villages that is over the bridge at Spanish Springs. That would be a nice golf cart ride from Fenney, bring a lunch it’ll be a long ride or stop at one of the 100’s of restaurants we have in the real villages.

You should talk with folks that actually live in Fenney if you want facts regarding the community. The fenced in area of a court yard villa is much, much smaller than those in designer veranda homes, not a comparison in the least. As far as the Fenney FB group, most of those who write on the page we know personally as we were here from the beginning and through all of the social gatherings it was easy to meet those that want to get involved and what they post is factual. Those are facts not rumors that you hear from folks that only "talked" about living in Fenney. Your quote that most of the people you know would not want to live in Fenney is mute as all but 10 homes have been sold here and I'm sure those will be gone soon. Now you can go on and attempt to discourage potential buyers from settling in other southern villages that are just as great as Fenney.

I don't understand the need for some to denigrate new areas in The Villages.

I do believe that being anonymous allows us to hide our agendas sometimes. I also think that some people do not jump to conclusions without facts, they leap and catapult to conclusions. I think it is sometimes jealousy of those who do not live here and sometimes it is because some people enjoy being irritating and like controversy. I remember when we were building our home just off 466 and several said they wouldn't want to live there because of the noise of 466.

I think that people lose sight or forget or don't care that people moving into homes in The Villages are really quite adventurous, moving from far away and beginning their lives in a new land and a new sort of culture. They have left old friendships and familiar ways behind them to start a new and hopeful life in a new place. They are excited and happy to do that. Their home is their castle, for most of us the biggest purchase of our lives, they are eager to be happy and really deserve to be happy.

I do not think that most of the negative comments would be made in polite conversation and are mean spirited.

Again, I would like to point out that I have lived here for more than a decade, I don't know the Morses, although I would love to thank them personally and do not, nor never have sold houses other than our own, once.

Everyone who posts on here, any thread...does NOT have an agenda.

It is called an opinion..

An opinion is a judgment, viewpoint, or statement that is not conclusive.

Remember, NOT CONCLUSIVE. If an opinion is deemed conclusive, then facts need to be given to substantiate that conclusion.

Bottom line is that if someone does not share your opinion, that does not mean they have an agenda.

Fenney was the subject of much discussion from the very beginning, and as any Village, requires potential residents to decide based on their own judgement. Now, all of those judgements will not fit yours or mine. Going beyond 466 was a matter of discussion over 15 years ago.

Your remarks are addressed to someone who LIVES in Fenney. There are many who LIVE in Fenney who feel just the way he does.

If you have not taken the drive down Morse in the last couple of months you will be astonished by the progress. They are closing the gap. The new areas will soon be contiguous to the rest of us. I am motivated by protecting the feelings of decent nice people. I do not work and I am not looking for anything but just setting the record straight.

Excellent post.

And yes...that's just my "opinion."

Here is an old thread with people discussing a new area and with people finding things to say that are negative.

These bashing posts are really not funny.....

I am a bit confused. Your link took me to a discussion of flood plains and flooding.

My point, and one which I will try to make clearer...

EVERY OPINION DOES NOT AN AGENDA MAKE.

Everyone who disagrees with you does not necessarily have an agenda....they have a different opinion.

I am not sure why the making of a "soap opera" every time someone disagrees.....exchange of OPINIONS is supposed to be welcome and frankly if I disagree with an OPINION, it is disheartening to have it termed having an "agenda" or bashing. YES, many make their opinions known in an accusatory manner......a bit aggressively but that does not an "agenda" make.

Speaking of agendas instead of opinions makes for yet another soap opera. Making accusations instead of offering an opinion requires proof, etc.

When The Villages purchased the land south of 466, there was much talk.....this was prior to TOTV....think maybe 2001 or 2002.....about how big this was going to get, and how bad that might be.

Sumter Landing had doubters at the time it was being built.....questions abounded about why......in addition to much excitement about the new square....this was around 2004/2005. People felt it was over done, etc.

EVERY SINGLE item that has happened here has had doubters and all was discussed......do not tell me that nobody disagreed with the growth....just totally not true

BUT IT DID NOT MEAN ANYONE HAD AN AGENDA.....Just different opinions. They also did not have TOTV to expound to others how they felt. Fact is, the birth of the old political forum was a conversation on here about the potential coming of a "horse farm" and betting on 301. Talk host set up a separate thread simply to talk about that and that morphed into a political section. Note....it was not what newer folks have experienced on there

POINT IS......no growth here will be without discussion or pros and cons.......BUT I would not go so far as to accuse others of having an agenda.
