We are very happy with Kin Ins. Our renewal in Feb 23 did increase by $400 but was still way less than several other companies and agents we checked with.

Just because you buy from a local agent & Ins. company doesn’t mean they’re going to be cheaper. I agree with another person, I look for cheaper rates & make sure I’m getting Apples for Apples, I ask them if I do have a claim I make sure I get to talk to a live person & not a robot & don’t have to push a bunch of buttons & have to listen to music for 10 mins. also a English speaking person that I can understand! But the biggest thing is that you’re getting the exact same coverage.

You know if you’re watching any news broadcast our Ins. rate will be going up again next yr. because Pennsylvania & Mississippi just had a explosion & really bad weather. Now who do we think will be the ones paying for it, the ones that have the claims, well yea about 1/4 to 1/2 of it & the rest will be the one buying Ins. Why do we think the Ins. companies never go broke. It doesn’t take a Rocket Scientist to figure that out. Otherwise why do Ins. rates go up?

I have USAA and just had a call with them about how to lower my premium. They asked if I had a "Uniform Mitigation Verification Inspection" because depending on the rating it will lower my premium. I had never heard of this but I'm having an inspector, who is certified in this, come to my house this week to do the inspection and fill out the form.
I'll keep everyone posted on the results: cost of the inspection, the rating, and how much the savings was. |

Has anyone given thought to self insuring?
The risk here seems very low relative to othrer other areas in FL. The only damage I've seen is lightening. Add a lightening protection system to mitigate that. |

You’re exactly right but all I mean is don’t buy just because they’re close & easy to get to. Just buy from another Ins. company because they’re giving you everything you want. When we lived in TV we bought from a local agency because we got Apples for Apples plus When I called about a question we talked a live person & not some recording.
