Annoyed. Then drive faster or take your car but quit complaining over what others choose to do. Annoying? Really!

When we see cart drives going over 20 mph we like to see how red their faces are, usually a sign maybe they have been drinking. Of course it depends on the time of day but sometimes when it's late afternoon and we see a red faced guy maybe he stayed too long in the bar and Ethel will be pi$$ed when he comes home late for dinner.

I am sure that speed will/can vary depending on what all you have in the cart. If you have a full load in a 4 seater then you might not make the top speed.

I don't mind being passed when going 20 MPH. It doesn't have any effect on my day. When I get behind a cart going 18 MPH or less I pass them figuring the same way. They are not affected by me passing them but I would be if I stayed behind them. What really gets me irritated is car drivers in the left lane going less than the posted speed limit and not passing anyone.

They will set it at 22mph or whatever speed however you must sign the form stating you are 'requesting' for the speed over 20mph. My cart is set at 22mph however I feeel safer for extra power going around someone who is driving under 17mph and a road hazard! There are some very impatient people who will pass 3 or more carts just to get in front of the line, so to speak! I had an older gentlemen hit the curb on the LSL bridge and fell out of his cart! Not speeding, just trying to drive!! So the setting of the speed on a cart is not the only problem!

I recently bought a cart. My loner did approx. 19mph. Yes, everyone would pass me, even my friend whom I would follow to a golf course would loose me. They would tell me, that when my new one comes in have them turn up the speed a little, they might have you sign something. When my new one came in it went about the same as the loner. I had to bring it in the following week for some things to be added that had not previously been installed. I asked if the speed could be turned up, they told me yes, but 24.5 was the max. I got the impression that there was something about not hitting 25mph. I typically cruise at about 20-22, but is nice to know that when your lagging in traffic you can pick it up a little. People will travel at what they are comfortable, just like a car, but you better know the consequences. Everybody has gone too fast at some point in their life. Even here in TV, a 20mph cart going down hill will do 24-25mph. I did not have to sign anything. What I'm more concerned with is people not cancelling their directionals, now this is an accident waiting for a place to happen. I got self canceling directionals on my cart. The best safety feature you could spend money on. I would strongly urge everyone to get these. I think they were about $250. Just think, going down a ramp, not knowing your right direction is on, but you are going straight thru. Someone coming out of the tunnel thinks you are turning right and pulls out. Ouch!

I have no trouble staying behind somebody doing 20 miles an hour I have an issue with those going 12 to 14 miles an hour and then if I want to pass they speed up and try to block me

It is my understanding also from the person that we bought our cart from, that you will get points on your license if caught speeding or having open alcoholic containers, plus it’s considered a felony in Florida if you’re speeding with a golf cart.
