So, you like to obey the law while driving your car, but flaunt it while on your bike?

It not taking crap from idiots in cars is flaunting - then yes. Oh, and just yesterday a hillbilly in a pickup got his clock cleaned (and sprayed with Halt!) by a Villager on a bicycle over by Summerfield!!! From what I understand he is also going to be ticketed (and probably arrested)...those pesky "Go-Pro's" we tend to wear :-)

Not my story to tell the finer points of however. That said, riding outside of TV is far more peaceful than being in TV.

Honestly ,I'm not a bike rider-but odds of a bike ride being DUI are insignificant when compare to a golf cart driver there's no 19th hole for bike riders

If the LEO's -wanted to they, could incarcerate 1/2 the villages by placing dui stops outside the square & country clubs

Not crossing the white line is a big misconception and was explained in the golf cart safety course (highly recommended) I took last month at Colony. You absolutely may and should cross the white line when safe and necessary. Never make a left turn from the golf cart lane, but move into the street traffic first and then turn left. The white line is NOT a do not cross line. Hope that helps!

From the OP, I was on St. Charles this AM, heading towards Bailey Tr. a golf cart decided the golf cart in front of him was going too slow--the golf cart at the last minute pulled directly in ,he front of my car & after that I hit my horn to alert him of his dumb and illegal move, he passed the slower cart

When he managed to pass the golf cart that was going to slow for him he gave me the single finger salute

And thats how this started !!

Crap happens, doesn't it? The only reason I will pass another cart is because I will not follow someone smoking a damn cigar or cigarette; I don't have to and will not let their nasty, stinking habit spoil an otherwise beautiful ride. I will pass bicyclists though, whether it be the slow ones wearing their full body leotards or the turtle pace ones that are wobbling and looking like they're ready to fall over.

I've been driving St. Charles and Bailey Trail everyday for about 5-1/2 years, you'll just have to get use to it. Starting a thread about something that occurs 2 or 3 times a week will get little old, carts passing carts and carts passing bikes happens everyday on those two streets.

I could mention just today on St. Charles, and this wasn't a case of inconvenience, it was a case of almost a golf cart become a hood ornament. I was southboard approaching Sterling Hgts Rec Center and a golf cart without using a turn signal or a hand jesture started over the white line no more than 20' ahead of my car while I was going 30 mph. I couldn't go left because a red Mustang was coming in the opposite direction, so I jammed my brakes hard without locking up. I didn't blow my horn, because I wasn't going to hit him, and I saw that he finally saw me in the mirror and started back to the right. After I passed I saw in my rearview mirror he made a left turn into the Rec Center. End of story, no one hurt, and I'm sure he'll look twice before making another left turn, or at least put on a turn signal and stick out his hand whether he sees anyone or not.

Oh my how did you ever survive that John W? Protocol states you must rush home and post each infraction you see everyday. You should never delay these important report's. LOL. Seriously John W. I'm with you, drive defensively and have your mind on driving and accept that not everyone is a driving instructor. The circle near Savannah produced an unwelcome surprise several days ago, a nice lady in a beautiful big white Mercedes was steaming directly at us on our side of the median and I had one fool drafting like a Nascar driver on my tail and a car next to me, thankfully he sped up so I could move over. Disaster averted thankfully the other guy helped us out. The lady in the Benz was frazzled and we felt sorry for her. New people here are in a state of mass confusion. It's a whole lot to take in and get accustomed to without someone be inpatient because a few seconds of their precious time is being devoured by someone who is possibly new and trying to get down the road or pick up their mail....I'll never forget that one. The people busting chops over these infractions have to remember they once were new here. How about us hearing about a person screwing up on the road and what the person acting like Barney Fife did to give them a hand or help them out.
I'm glad to see someone like John W report the problem and the correct solution. It gives me hope.
