I chose preserve. Love the birds, the frogs, the sounds.

What a lovely dilemma to have. Lived on a tee box in a different community and the early mowing, watering and other continuous maintenance bothered me. Also didn't care for people looking into the lanai all the time, which I am terribly guilty of here - just curious how people decorate! So that being said guess you figured out I would go for the preserve. Good luck with whatever you choose - I'm sure you'll love it.

I would go with the Preserve, I enjoy the view and the privacy.

Cool Preserve kind of looks like a grassy wetland

Like the area on the east side of the Morse bridge. The west side is real lake front. The pictures that Jane posted above were showing very much more water

We are on a middle tee box on a Championship Golf Course. Been here 3years and never had a golf ball hit our house. Also have an elevated lanai and a good size pond view. So we get to watch the beautiful birds and also get to watch the golfers. We love it!

Boy Howdy, (thank you Gracie) the water people really are dissing the golf front sites. To add a little info: I walked into an open house on a marsh/preserve/swamp and asked the question: Which one do people prefer and which has better resale? He said, and I am paraphrasing, some people like it but those that don't, actually hate it. He didn't come out directly but alluded to a larger population would be interested in golf course front. As for the pesticides they use on the golf courses, they use a ridiculous abundance of chemicals in the water to keep the mosquitos and other stuff from spreading. So I would eliminate the pesticide argument. In the end, I would consider only which view would make you happier. Do what makes you feel at peace.

I had a house on the T box when I lived in Atlanta and the plus was I had only a rare ball in the yard where as houses down the same course had windows broken. The minus is that if they hit a bad shot they can be loud, especially if they have been drinking. The plus is watching them grump and stomp around after a bad shot is sort of like your own private comedy show.

If the water in the marsh is stagnate I would fear bugs breading and a smell. There was a small pond and marsh area behind a unit of someone I met and was having coffee with when we visited the villages in 2006 and it had green slime on the water and was very smelly. I don't know if this is an issue that is rare but I would be concerned.

I think we have the best of both worlds!
Our lanai will back up to Pinellas, with the 8th green of Kildeer and Evans Prairie as our view. I like the fact that we back up to the road, which gives us a buffer, but no neighbors, just a great view of both golf course and Nature Preserve.
Can't wait to get it built!!
