Maybe a fluke but I had prime rib at Prima and it was cold inside. They heated it but it seemed clear to me it was reheated slice rather than a freshly roasted rib roast. I like their other food. Haven’t had another steak there.

I’ve always liked Longhorn steak house on 441, but recently have gotten excellent Prime Rib at Perkins. Yes I was surprised.

The Villages can certainly support a fine steakhouse, it just has t happened yet. Many think Chop House is good, it isn’t. It’s just better than Sizzler, which many believe to serve good steaks…
Go up to Ocala to Mark's Prime or Stirrups. There is also a Remington's Prime Steakhouse that is opening later this month in Ocala

It's a crapshoot. Went to Chop House for my husband's birthday. He ordered filet, I ordered ribeye. Both were very tough, couldn't eat most of mine. The manager tried to tell me it was because I ordered medium rare! However they did take mine off the bill. A few days later my friend went and she and her friend had excellent filets. Go figure.

Texas Roadhouse. Choose the steak from the display case. Best in town.

Now, I'm hungry... I haven't checked around TV, but we used to buy half a cow with friends, have it butchered and split it up. It was much cheaper that way. Anyone know if that's done anywhere near TV?

Default Texas Roadhouse

Of all the places we have gone, Texas Roadhouse has NEVER served us a bad steak or prime rib. The only negative (for me) is that it's noisy in there. The service has always been good and it's priced right, too!

Last two times at Longhorn was too heavily seasoned. Returned it on the second
visit (reminded waitress I asked for lightly seasoned) and asked for lightly seasoned and steak came with zero seasoning.

Their salmon is very good.

Regarding the Kansas City Steaks, they are pricey. They charge $120 per pound for USDA Prime filet mignon, as compared to $35 per pound at Publix. I have never been disappointed with the Publix steaks. You can definitely tell the difference in tenderness between USDA Prime vs USDA Choice.
Wow, $120 a pound for a filet and customer does not pick it.Not in my budget. Wonder how much difference there is between a prime vs choice filet. Bet the difference is miniscule. Hate to say this but Sams does have a great deli like butcher set up. Pick your own individual steaks for a lot less than Publix.

Actually it probably comes in a container with dry ice like the stuff from Omaha Steaks and you have to cook it. I mean the Kansas City Steaks. Steaks - Premium Steaks - Gourmet Steaks Online | Kansas City Steaks

USDA choice filet mignon at Sam's is $20 per pound vs $25 per pound for prime. The Publix prime is $35 per pound, but, in my opinion, the Publix steaks are better and worth the extra cost. $120 per pound is way overpriced.

Filet is a very tender and very lean steak. I wouldn’t spring for prime. Marbling wouldn’t matter much on that cut.

That being said I also find filet to be bland and much prefer strip or ribeye.

In my opinion, choice filet is nowhere near as tender as prime filet. Also, the leaner the steak, the tougher it is. That is what marbling is all about.
