I believe that glass bottles ARE better than plastic. I believe that glass goes back to nature (deteriorates) faster than plastic containers. Another advantage crushed glass can be used in concrete. Also we would have less of this micro-particle problem that we have been discussing.

I am sure that the facts stated are CURRENTLY correct. However, E-Vehicles are in their infancy and will improve with development - as will battery technology. And it is easier to control pollution from a non-moving central generation plant than the thousands of IC vehicles moving around.
......As far as power generation goes, there is GREAT promise in environmentally friendly electrical generation like from tides, windmills, nuclear power, and etc. Even the burning of TV Land waste as has been previously discussed.

Interesting about "mandates". People in 1960 did NOT like the government MANDATE to put seat belts in cars and to USE them. That has saved many lives. Some of us may be alive today because our parents "buckled up". A mandate to disallow plastic grocery bags that was passed today would be COMPLETELY forgotten by 2030. Everything that the government does is not necessarily "BAD". Sometimes it takes years to be proven CORRECT.

Isn’t milk in a plastic container, plastic bags for produce, plastic bottles for juice, plastic bottles for salad dressings, plastic containers for spring mix lettuce.
Deodorant, shampoo, conditioner…plastic containers, napkins, paper dishes, paper towels, toilet tissue, all in plastic wrappings. All the meats are on Styrofoam and wrapped in plastic wrap. The Medicines and vitamins we all take, plastic bottles….

They've made it very difficult to recycle glass containers in east Tennessee. I guess the cost of recycling was higher than the worth of the end product would support. You can still take them to a few recycle centers and pay to drop them off, this has had the affect of less products at the local stores being sold in glass. stinks

Very true. At the time people were screaming about their freedom being taken away. Same when lines were drawn in roads and you had to stay on your own side. Same for stop signs and traffic lights. And drivers licenses. And,,, the list is endless.

Some people think all of those uses for plastics are ok, it is the plastic bags that are evil.
