I swore when I was young and working as I drove past the old people mowing their yard, picking weeds, etc. that I would NEVER give two cents for my freaking yard or landscaping. I was not going to work hard and then retire to tend my yard. My precious grass.

I swore I would NOT live my life around my freaking yard.

My yard looks good enough. I think I will pee on it though just to show it who is really boss.

Sorry you CAN control where they pee, it is called a leash and the owner controlling the dog.

Just chalk it up to bait or wonder what prompted such a biased/prejudiced bit of flame?

Oh, yes you can. Unless your dog outweighs you, pull the dog into the street as they gravitate toward the grass. I did that for 33 years with my dogs. NEVER did I allow either of my dogs to pee or poop on anyone's property. They had their potty area on our property and that is where they did their business. Don't let the dog train you......you train the dog.

Another poop and pee dog story. “Isn’t this a great country or what”. Anonymous

You can control it, just don’t allow the dog on the grass. We keep our dog in the street on walks. If she pees in the street then so be it but it is not on someone’s lawn.

As a person that trained military dogs, I completely concur with your statement.

(the friendliest hometown apparently doesn't apply to everyone living here) She threatened to call the cops - really? I'd like to see how the police would respond that complaint. She should be more diligent though and be on the lookout for the squirrels, rabbits, birds and other wildlife that are also peeing (and pooping) on her lawn. Sheesh, what a grouchy you know what.
People try to justify what they do. REALITY, dogs by instinct know that their waste is dirty and carries disease. The reason WHY most dogs will not relieve themselves where they live. THEY CAN BE TRAINED TO GO ON YOUR PROPERTY BUT CLEARLY YOU CANNOT TRAIN PET OWNERS..

Reasoning with dog owners is clearly a waste of time. There are animal repellents.
The owner will not train the dog.

Very well said. I don't get how anyone can make an argument that letting dogs do this is ok. But I always forget about the dillusional, entitled dogs owners that only think about themselves.

I mean WTF? What don't they get about private property!

Truth, reality, it is criminal for you to relieve yourself on your own lawn. For better or for worse, you/we have chosen to live in a planned, controlled community.

There are alternatives. I have a former business associate, who chose to purchase 180 wild acres with his brother in North Carolina.

While walking the dogs in the street, if the dog gravitated toward grass I would pull the dog back into the street. I knew the dog just wanted to "mark" his spot on some else's property and I would not have any of that.

I do not understand how anyone would allow their pet to pee and poop on some else's property other than their own. I understand that people do the right thing by picking up the poop but you can't pick up the pee. Then........there are some folks who don't bother to pick up the poop. Not nice at all.
Totally agree, our dog only uses either our lawn, or one of the several common areas along our walk, and we always pick up after her. We never let our dog on others lawns for two reasons. First, it’s respectful of their property and the right thing to do. Secondly, and equally important, you never know when the last time a lawn service or pesticide company applied nasty cancer causing chemicals to the lawn. The health of our little girl is of the upmost importance!

We only get one side of these stories. The original post. Any sign of I didn't realize what I was doing is wrong. I apologized and will not do it again.

As stated, it is a waste of time trying to reason with some pet owners. There are animal repellents. A bit of hot pepper will train the dog. The owner will be trained by the dog.
