We just bought a home in TV. We won't have a dog when we're there. But if we did, I would not allow it to pee or poop in someones yard. That's not cool at all.
If this story is true, it's just another case of an entitled dog owner. |

1) When you walk your dog you cannot control where they pee; and 2) The dog was trespassing, not my wife.

I agree but not going to change. Bottom line villages allows dogs. Until that changes don’t worry what people doing when not you’re property. You will only going get high blood pressure. IMO villages should NOT allow pets cramped in like sardines and especially multiple ones, no adult kids, or renting in villages. But that my opinion. Now that ought create hundred plus posts From the slumlords, pet lovers, and unable to cut the 4O plus year old kids loose. ![]() |

I found an interesting idea from one neighbor. He said that whenever he needs to pee, he does it in a water bottle. When he sees someone allowing their dog to use his lawn, he follows them home and empties his water bottle on their lawn. IF/IF they ask him why he is doing that, he tells them that his bottle was full and decided to empty it. If they ask him why there, he says he figures that out of all his neighbors, they would understand and would not mind his using their yard. He was being considerate by not exposing himself to the public. He says he has never had to repeat the process with the same dog walker, because they seem to get the point. Seems equitable to me.
Seriously though, it is very difficult to prevent a dog from urinating on your lawn once other dogs have left their scent on it. If you do not get rid of the scent quickly, other dogs will leave their contribution on or near the same spot. When someone pays a commercial business to treat their lawn, they do not appreciate an inconsiderate neighbor undoing their costly investment. |

Key part of the story which has escaped comment so far... the neighbor was across the street. You can be 100% sure that the OP's wife would not have let the dog toilet on the lawn if the neighbor had been standing in front of her own home because she knows such an act is not wanted or welcome. But she didn't notice the homeowner across the street and got caught.
And the OP admits above that the dog was trespassing. Guess who is legally required to have the dog under control? Hmm. I didn't bite that person, it was my dog so I'm not responsible... see??

I won't walk on my own lawn... since its a dog park now. A neighbor who thinks she's smarter than us old guys has 3 NEW puppies.. walks 2... goes inside and walks the last one alone. like as a senior we can't count or remember 3 minutes ago. HA! |

I had a thought to share;
I find it incredulous that your neighbor can tell you what you should/should not display in your yard and how it should be maintained (even complaining on you, anonymously), but you are a jerk when you want to control who or what comes in your yard, and what they do on it. I get one is governed by Deed Restrictions and the other is not. Still, an interesting thought experiment. |

I wasn't the one that suggested calling the police. The OP brought it up and asked what would they do---I simply gave a possibility. Chill.

Yep. If charged, go into court with that defense. Good luck.

While walking the dogs in the street, if the dog gravitated toward grass I would pull the dog back into the street. I knew the dog just wanted to "mark" his spot on some else's property and I would not have any of that. I do not understand how anyone would allow their pet to pee and poop on some else's property other than their own. I understand that people do the right thing by picking up the poop but you can't pick up the pee. Then........there are some folks who don't bother to pick up the poop. Not nice at all.
