Good to know the quarry is not causing any damage to the homes.

I have no idea. I know we do have a problem with sink holes in The Villages. I just didn't realize one opened up so close to where I live.

There's 10 on here and at least 3 or 4 since that.
Thanks for the link. Some new ones have cropped up (or fallen in) since then. There was also one in Calumet Grove I think.

We don’t either by Sawgrass Grove.

Default Sonic Booms

I've been in thunderstorms where he distant thunder clap will shake the windows. That is another good example of what it feels like. Each time it has happened there has been no thunderstorms in the area.
I used to work for the FAA and know the air space around here. They do not have supersonic aircraft flying in any proximity of the villages. I mentioned it to my aunt who lives about 3 miles away and she has also experienced this as have some of my friends. None of us can figure out what it could possibly be. I live a good distance from I 75 and the turnpike. I have also checked the old posts in the forum and others have experienced this but nobody can seem to offer a good answer. Thoughts?
Here is an article explaining the sonic booms.

Since at least since building South of 44, the Villages does extensive geological drilling to determine the conditions beneath the surface. You can see this as a matrix off white spots in Google photos prior to construction.

They scoop out any organic material and back full with sand/clay.

If moisture content is high, they use piles of soil to compress and force moisture out over time to compact/stabilize the soil

While that may have happened, the A-10 is not capable of supersonic flight...therefore cannot produce a sonic boom.

Never going to happen. Why say that? Time to have a bit of reflection perhaps?

When I lived west of Ft. Lauderdale in the late 70's blasting was just a way of life.
Sunrise, Plantation, Weston, Pembroke Pines, Miramar etc. were all just Everglades back then. Tens of thousands of homes were being built. To make room for the new developments they had to blast and muck and demuck to have land to build on.
They take the muck out by truck usually to the railroad out east and bring back truck loads of solid fill and dump it. This went on for years. If you look at a map of Southeast Fl. you will see 441. Most everything west of it was built after I moved there. Amazing

Default Tremors/Explosions mines

Down load the app “find my car.” Look for your village/house and see just how close you are to one of three mines/quarries especially the one that does blasting every so often. The blasts rock the entire house. Too bad the realtor didn’t mention it. “It’s not personal, it’s just business.” Welcome to TV. Woodstock John. 🇺🇸😇🇺🇸
