This is a copy of the email going around in the Duval area. I can not verify if any of this is true however using this info along with the info about the CSI van at the location on Persimmon and there was definitely something going on there. Here is the email,

Just a note to let you know there was a home invasion last Saturday at a home on Persimmon Loop in our village (Duval) where a single lady (65) was very badly beaten and is in the hospital. The invader was white, clean cut and in his mid thirties. He did not speak but only used sign language. Be sure all doors, windows and screen doors are kept locked.

WOW! Um....I hope this opinion is in the minority. I pretty sure MOST people would like to be aware of the incident, even if the perp is caught.

I am sorry you are stressed and have a personal connection to this event. However, and I may be out of line, if I ask someone be quiet and then they go and post on TOTV that is the exact opposite of what I asked and I would never again trust them with any information. You are not privy to what happened as evidenced by your posting, the victim may well have asked for privacy, the police may have asked that no information be released while their investigation is ongoing or myriad other reasons. Do not be surprised if your friend is not so much your friend when this is done. Your need to be comfortable by going online is not the important need in this event. I suggest you go to your friend and apologize for not respecting the confidentiality of the information entrusted to you. Again I may be out of place, but I feel very strongly about issues of trust and confidentiality. It seems so often that people don't understand how destructive loose lips can be.

I notice the circulating email does not say "the man was caught" and that people should be on guard.

1. Friends are not subject to HIPAA laws of privacy-confidentiality. Friendship is not a legal arrangement. It is a connection of hearts and minds.

2. Friends know their friend better than strangers reading here know that particular victim's view of confidentiality of things she said in a traumatized and possibly sedated state.

3. Friends use their better judgement to decide whether to remain silent and enable another home invasion and beating or rape, or to speak up so others don't meet the same fate.

4. A victimized friend in the hospital would deeply regret saying nothing or telling her friend to say nothing if the hearer or another woman in the vicinity were beaten, raped or killed by the same suspect on the loose.

5. The quote above is arrogant and condescending.

My "friend" sought me out to warn me, and he helped in the composition of the original post when we met last night at one of the country clubs. We posted it together at the time via the app on my phone.
The facts purported in the email above are what he shared with me as well. I agreed not to mention the victim's name.

Making information such as this should be made public . . . not to scare anyone but to make people aware.
We all learn from the mistakes of others.
I think we would all like to know how this event happened and exactly what took place.

I think they were trying to be diplomatic and tell us not to worry. Please note that she was hospitalized on an unrelated issue.

I can't imagine why anyone would not want to know about a true home invasion and attack, especially if it was in or near their village. To be aware is essential for your own safety.

With that said, I have read the article, and at NO PLACE IN THE ARTICLE does it CONFIRM that there was actually a home invasion and/or an attack. To the contrary, after reading the article, unless new evidence comes out, I feel I can personally put this report to rest.

From a different news source in part.
Quote:
It has been confirmed that Sumter County sheriffs deputies had been called to the home at 7 a.m. Sunday to a report of a burglary and assault.

The 65-year-old victim told deputies that a man had entered her home and attacked her. The woman said the man had locked her in a closet before he left her residence.
