I presently have Comcast but am intrigued by century link. My monthly cable bill is $210 bundled along with my phone. This is crazy expensive especially with all the channels and nothing good is ever on. Same ole stuff every month. I just would like some feed back on century link to see if I should take the plunge. Any help would be appreciated.

Got rid of Prism and Century link all together picture was not all that good and just inter net was 60 dollars a month with both I was paying 150.00 not good. Went back to Direct tv for like 40.00 and comcast internet for 36.00 granted that price wont stay the same forever but a lot cheaper for now and I got nfl package free with direct tv for this year. Also take a look at ROKU not easy to use but a lot for free you just have to know what you are looking for.

Thank you all....it was enlightening. I will call Comcast tomorrow and really _itch! Less is best. Their internet is fast I guess. Faster than me anyways. It's just that the movie channels like HBO are always showing dumb movies. Thanks all. I hope to here more.

I recently signed up with Comcast for internet and phone. The installation wasn't too bad, and things were working, so I decided to go for the triple play, adding cable TV to the mix. That's where things went downhill.
Comcast showed its complete incompetence with cable TV. First off, when they hooked up the TV, I lost the phone and internet for 24 hours. I'll save you the details, but the digital and HD boxes did not work, calling the 800 number cost me countless hours, and on top of that, the billing was incorrect. All calls were handled by India, and they would just switch me from one person to another. I had 3 separate technicians come to the house, and I made 6 trips to the Comcast office over a 7 day period. I cancelled the TV portion, tried to return to my original setup at $39.99 locked in for 2 years for internet and phone. Problem was, they wouldn't allow that, since I added the TV (which of course never was functional). I was at least able to get the $39.99 for 6 months. Emailed the VP of customer services, and got a response back saying how they always try to provide the best customer service. What a joke! ![]() |

Interesting reading all these posts. Doesn't anyone have plain phone on twisted copper wire anymore?
Have that and Vonage VOIP for International free calling and with a DE number so my wife's DE relatives could call toll free. But now practically everyone has free domestic long distance. Got hint from friends we met on World Cruise, officially live in West Palm Beach, but really line in Bahamas. The got Vonage so her kids in Central PA could call her toll free. Now you can get an App to use to make free International calls on iPhone, or free calls anywhere on WiFi. Talked to DirecTv, they wanted me to go with Century Link, but research showed me Comcast faster. Will need faster for phone, ROKU and streaming sound and video. |

Called Comcast and after several frustrating calls someone wrote on my file that I was a troublemaker and wanted to cancel my service which I had planned to do. After that no one wanted to talk to me and gave me the runaround every time I would call I'd get hung up on. Tried to get Brighthouse but they aren't in Hadley. Came to the realization that I'm stuck with Comcast. Finally got them to give me a new package that is a better deal than before.

We also had the same problem with Comcast.called the 800 number and got a very rude customer supervisor and was told nothing could be done. Then I called a Debbie Brainhard at 904 256-1800 left a message and received a call back from a very nice lady at the office near McDonalds on 441. She went over my bill and gave me a new package which is $30.00 less. She said that if I ever have any more problems that I should come into their office and talk to them directly. So far now I'm keeping Comcast.

We just switched from Comcast to CenturyLink because they were getting too expensive. We have the bundle and Prism complete with 150 channels, HD for life for $134/mo. We are very pleased with the install and the quality of the picture.

Had PRISM with Centurylink when we lived in SWFL and continued with it here. Except for a few minor issues initially, we have no problems. I have TV, internet and phone with unlimited long distance for $140 monthly. Had DirecTV before that, which my husband liked, BUT...that bill kept creeping up. I find now my Centurylink bill is stable and between that and cell phones I'm around $200 a month, which is probably as good ad it gets, and I got to keep my house phone, so this works best for us.

If you don't watch a lot of TV then just get the CenturyLink Internet or Internet plus phone if there is a deal. You'll need a wifi/wireless network in your home Then purchase a smart box, my favorite, and I have them all, is Roku for under $100. Then get a subscription to Hulu Plus for $8. a month. You will get all the major networks/shows the next day. And more movies than you'll ever watch. Downside you will not get local channels (yet) and you will not get live shows/sports. If you can live with that this is the least expensive set-up you can have. An added feature is that you can wrap in up and take it with for the months you are gone and use it up north - it is a little larger than a hockey puck.
