Someone told me about this about eight hours ago but I could not verify it. And where will we get people who do this work for the same wages as those sent wherever? These jobs will be very difficult to fill.

Well they should have come here legally or not at all.

Meanwhile, 90% of the arrests in TV are white people getting DUI's or their grandkids being caught with meth or beating their girlfriends while the "illegals" are too busy working on landscaping crews or building homes in TV to be involved with nefarious things.

Does not make any sense to me, either. Probably 95% of the Villagers ancestors came to America after 1800.

Yep, they have to fill them legally now at fair wage, until they go after the builders and especially subcontractors ( one hiring illegals illegally and taking advantage of them) nothing will be fixed.

The original posts subject line was not inline with the article link it referenced which I read and made zero reference to “The Villages”. I am South of 44 and not a part of Wildwood. I guess the article referenced did not want to draw attention specifically to The Villages.

The first years leading to WWII saw thousands of "illegal aliens" from Poland, Germany, and other parts of Europe arrive in the US. By "illegal alien" I mean "undocumented immigrants." They didn't have "papers" - they gave a name, which was usually changed and anglicized, told the people on Ellis Island who they were going to visit - which was never checked - and as long as they didn't show symptoms of tuberculosis they were allowed to enter New York City.

Thing about the Europeans though - immigration wasn't tracked the way it is now. So MOST immigrants were what we now call undocumented, or "illegal." The government even created a process to make them permanent residents. If they were fleeing the war, fleeing persecution, fleeing for their lives - the American government helped them to legitimize their stay. But they had to be here "illegally" first.

Between 1880 and 1920, thousands of Italian immigrants fled Italy and came to the US, many of whom were undocumented.

Where South of 44 are you not in Wildwood if you live in The Villages?

So, what is wrong with arresting drunk drivers, drug violators, and molesters? Those are illegal activities and should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Even if they have families and work and are white. Sure, families will suffer and that is unfortunate. Do something "illegal" and suffer the consequence.

Compare that to "illegal immigrants". Shouldn't the same apply? The description "illegal" says they did not do immigration the right way: suffer the consequence.

What’s thousands to several million? A few.

They’re always going to be one’s that sneak In and they get caught depending on who’s in charge and what laws they want to enforce they get deported.
