Donna, there is everything from double-wides to big mansions. Regardless of what you own, or where you live in TV, you get to enjoy the same things. Difference it, to us at least, we live in an older area where the bond has been paid. That was an added expense and headache we didn't want to deal with. Our lots are huge in the older section compared with other areas. We have a golf course behind us which gives us more privacy. When you look at the price of the new homes, you have to add the bond. The is explained in many other threads here. But don't let that scare you, 'cause you can buy a nice house without any bond worries.
You should do the Lifestyle Preview Plan visit. You don't even have to look at any homes to take advantage of the program. No one tries to sell you anything. I promise. They set you up in a courtyard villa, fully furnished, beautiful, with a golf cart to use. You book it like a hotel reservation with the minimum of three days and the maximum of six, I think that is right. In the winter when we came before we bought, it was $99 a night!! They furnished us each with discount coupons for meals and two rounds of free golf on beautiful courses. |

That is the price for LSV which is limited to only 6 nights. Yes, again summer rentals are dirt cheap.
And I am going to be truthful. We in TV are affluent, but not in the sense of money. Since we have become Villagers, we have seen that those of us that live there are of higher conservative values then most places. Doesn't matter if you live in Bridgeport or Bonita, we want a better life and strive to do better then most. We are still the generation, that wants to better themselves and not just except things. We want things to be of good quality and that is why we choose to live with and honor the deed restrictions/covs/rules. We have respect for each other. We take responsibility. That is one of things that is great about TV. You have many choices to home style, size etc, but we are all one, and share the same interests, facilties, clubs, etc. Money really doesn't matter in TV, or JMHO! So yes, we in TV are better then the rest!!! Army Guy

It is very sad to talk to some young parents. Maybe it is the part of country where we live(Northeast) but it seems that real values are not passed down from generation to generation anymore. Anyways, we are caring people and love children but feel that we want to spend what time we have left in an age- restricted neighborhood. We have been to a few, including Arizona, and we are convinced that the Villages are for us. We are anxious and nervous as we have lived in the same State all our lives. But after our visit last year, there is no doubt where we belong. TOTV people are number one!!! |

Donna, it just is not the Northeast.
We live out in the country in Alabama, and the family that moved into our what use to be nice neighborhood during the period that the banks where giving houses away, has given me memories that I can't wait to forget once in TV full-time. I have ssen things you would not believe! Plus I have actually learned, cause I never saw them done before, how the various services disconnect, phone, electric, gas, and turn them back on till the next over-due! And kids??? How would you like to walk out to your mail box and a 3 yes, THREE year old little girl tells you, "Hey stupid B@tch!!" My wife has! Army Guy

Unbelievable. There used to be a time when adults watched what they say in front of children. I was in a store a couple of weeks ago and some woman on a cell phone was yelling obscenities in a very loud voice. A few people shook their head in disgust but many pretended they didn't hear it.
I am not even going to get into how some of the people in my neighborhood let their dogs do whatever they please. Rules, I'll take them any day!!!!!! |

affluent is relative, even the poorest TV folks are better off than 99% of the world.. it's a fairly affluent place, all things considered

Just a note: I have no issues with the TV links inside TOTV. Not sure why mine work. I do use Firefox instead of IE if that means anything.
