The house I left behind was magnificent, the restaurants were the best. My former church, friends and neighbors were just precious. The traffic was a breeze. The house I bought in the Village's was the best model as well as my realtor being most qualified. Thank God I bought the last one. My doctor and dentist back home cant be beat so thats why we take trips. We have had more life saving operations, more pills and more ailments than anyone in this pool. My landscaper gives the best deal and his work is better than anyone in our Village. My favorite word and most often used is, what. My grandchildren are geniuses, better looking than yours and make more money than can ever be spent. They all graduated from premier colleges at the very top of their class. Actually I just may have more than you. I always pick up my dog poop, and yours as well! When we dine in we use the only the best paper plates. I could say more but I am so interesting there is not enough room or time. Thats because I almost died six times and I have to catch the shuttle for my next cruise. |

Tell him if it is a "real fact" such as the names of state capitals. Move on if it an "opinion fact" such as best economic policies.

It really depends on the relationship. If you want to retain the relationship .... move on. If you could care less, tell him/her they have their head up their balckside and see how that works for you.

I always try to correct a wrong when I'm certain it's a wrong. Even when I do it super diplomatically, not everybody likes to be corrected! Such a drag when trying to be helpful turns into making bad waves. But still worth it to me.

But then you come back to the question "am I sure you are wrong, maybe it is me that is wrong".

Usually I ignore them unless they are presenting themselves as an expert and others may come to rely upon this faulty data to make decisions.

Sometimes Facts and Data may not be factual or true depending on your perspective.
Fact: The earth is Round Not everyone accepts that Fact. If you set out to prove that fact how do you prove the Evidence that you present? For example you have a photo of the earth from the moon showing its round. How do you prove the photo is real? I usually take the approach that the other person's position is not the same as mine. Rather than say they are Wrong I would say that My position is different and I could state that I see things differently. |
