As of July 15, 277 people in The Villages have tested positive for COVID-19. One in The Villages, Marion County, 16 in The Villages, Lake County, and 260 people in The Villages, Sumter County.

"Errors" is not equal to "fraud". As has already been discussed in this thread, the labs are not being accused of reporting false positives, merely not reporting the negative tests.

There is a problem in that 100s of Florida labs are only reporting positive tests, not negative tests. This doesn't mean the total for positive tests is inaccurate, it means the percentage of positive test they show every day on the dashboard is inaccurate. If you don't report negative tests, your percentage of positives will be higher than it really is.

Should visitors, be given guest passes based on a certified negative COVID test, within 5 days of the request for the pass? There appears to be an uptake in short term rentals, could this be a contributing factor?

Calm down, I think you may actually be the one arguing with the straw man. Unless of course you can show where I even implied that I was quoting you as having called anything "fraud". Read post #46 again, then you can take what I said in #67 in context.
Interestingly, I actually agreed with your assertion that the rate of positive test results was in error.

Some states, such as Maine, are requiring proof of a negative COVID test within I believe 72 hours or you must quarantine for 14 days if you want to visit there. Actually that may be all states in New England....and New York state at this point has a list of 22 states not allowed to visit.
So, maybe poster is implying that visitors from out of state should prove they are negative for COVID, or they should quarantine on arrival here.
The travel industry is really being affected by this.
