Good advice GG and others concerning the wallpaper. When golf season ends (in about two weeks or so) the house work begins in earnest.
We have already cleaned out most of our walk in attic and can't believe how much we have thrown out ( or given to charity) that we brought from CT without ever using in TN. I have tax returns going back to 1995.... Anyone want a ping pong table? Last edited by aljetmet; 10-27-2011 at 11:33 AM. Reason: typo |

Gracie:
A thoughtful and intelligent post that has all that's required for a succesful sale of a home. IMHO - It is a real buyers market and some of their demands are sometimes a little unreasonable but it is what it is. The buyers are controlling the action and determining the price of a home. I'm sure the lemonade helped sell your house as I remember your post about one buyer was sitting on your porch and drinking it. ![]() I knew you would sell quickly as your home looked sparkling!!!!!!!!

So we stripped and re-painted our halfbath ( even took off the tank to get entirely behind it) . Came out nice and fresh.
Now we're doing the kitchen. When we purchased the house we hated the wall paper. So my wife picked out new paper and arranged to have it installed. When taking of the first few panels (now we just purchased a Wagner steamer fyi, very good!) Discovered that the wall had smooth white primer on it. Well, further discovered that our installer primed over the original wallpaper. Probably oil based and we never knew it. It would be impossible to remove the orginal wall paper now as it would ruin the walls. I'll touch up where some of the primer was removed and paint over. I'll also remove the paper in the master bath. (no stopping us now) Anyway once complete on the market the house goes. Last edited by aljetmet; 12-19-2011 at 04:39 PM. Reason: typo |
