In looking at property on the real estate websites, I noticed that Lake County has no bonds outstanding. Does that mean
1. Does that mean that Lake County is the older part of TV? 2. Does it mean that there can never be additional bonds in Lake County? 3. What are the pro's to life in Lake County? 4. What are the con's to life in Lake County, as opposed to other areas of TV? Thanks for any insights!

I presume you are asking about TV portions of Lake County, and not the entire county.
1. Yes, it is generally the "historic" section of TV. Initial bonds were smaller than they are today, people have paid longer on them, so now probably most TV homes in Lake County have little or no bond remaining on them. 2. Never say Never! But I know of no plans at all for new bonds. 3 and 4 - As far as TV goes, not much difference, everyone is treated the same. It does put you sort of on the edge of TV so the Lake County portions are never what I would cal "centrally located" in TV. Different governments (City of Lady Lake as opposed to Sumter or Marion County) so some differences there also. IMHO there is not much in differences about the Lake, Marion or Sumter portions of TV that should drive your purchase decision. Base your decision on all the other stuff that is important to you - like location (corner, golf course view, water, etc.), closeness to shopping or restaurants, the neighbors, home construction, etc. |

One other thing that I have learned about where to purchase. When you find the home that you want to make an offer on. It is a good idea to go meet the next door neighbors before you make that offer.
Just tell them you are interested in the home and ask some general questions about the neighborhood...................this will give you a little insight as to what kind of neighbors you might end up with. A great home might not be great if you end up with a neighbor that you don't hit it off with! We did this and we were fortunate to find the home we wanted and great neighbors as well!! ![]() |

I think everyone in tv thinks their area is best. My husband and I were married in July and are living in the historic district while selling my house in Alabama (hopefully) and his house (which we're living in now). I've found houses in several areas that I like, but in the meantime I've fallen in love with my neighborhood and friends here! They say to us "You're gonna miss us if you move to the other side." And they're right. This has been a real surprise. So I don't know where we'll end up here but I know it'll be good!

I have been putting the decision about buying a second home on the back burner. We have no plans to sell the Ohio house. But some warm weather in winter sure would be nice. I think the historic side might make a lot of sense. And besides that, I like the feel of the place.
