My previous Villages home had a one car garage and a strip of what should have been grass along side. A large tree had been removed from this grass area and the sprinkler system had been cut off from it.

I bought a new car and put my old one up for sale. To prevent having to move the old car with a For Sale sing on it, every time I wanted to take my car out of the garage, I parked the old car on this little strip of wasteland.

Sure enough, I got a call from community standards that someone had complained and I couldn't park there. I eventually sold the car and had this little strip covered over in concrete and now it is part of the driveway.

I understand that rules are rules and that normally this practice shouldn't be allowed, but in this case it wasn't hurting anything and it was very temporary.

So it is not allowed by community standards but if you do it, you will only told not to if someone complains. As far as I know there is no punishment for breaking any of these rules as long as you comply when you are first told to do so.

Why advise someone to break the rules?

Really don't like the implications of this message!

I agree. It's much easier to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission.

Finally, someone shows some common sense, how refreshing!
