I wonder if someone has a live trap they could put out there with some food. Might catch something else, but might catch the dog.

Sure hope he's found soon. I've personally seen bobcats on pelican. We need to get this little guy to a safe place.

I went to the course this morning and told a few golfers about the dog. Not very effective way to go about a solution. Talked to Sumter animal control in the afternoon. They are supposed call back with an update.

I was told by the Villages radio station they won't say anything about a lost dog unless you have it in your possession (different dog in that situation)

Shrandell, I didn't think at least this post was spiteful. I for one would rather take other measures than calling a kill facility to come get a dog. Plus the poster listed an alternative, no-kill facility. The next poster, saying it's better than what a gator would do... well, that wasn't a very nice way to put it, and maybe that was spiteful. But I did not think the thread took a nasty turn, except for maybe the post about the gator. I found Warren's post to be helpful and informative. JMO |

Here's a link to Sumter County Animal Control. My understanding was that they keep the dog until there is no longer any space for it. Any new developments on the pooch? The Villages radio station seems to be taking the stance that they do not report on abandoned dogs. This could be an abandoned dog, unfortunately. |

No one k owns this dog was abandoned . The radio station requires the dog be in someone's possession before they will announce anything so people aren't running around looking for the dog. Not my rules - theirs.
