Hey !!! IT'S JUNK MAIL...... I didn't ask for it, but the post office delivered it to me. So I just give it back to them.....in their trash can. Sometimes I take it home, but if it's only one or two in a small pack of mail, then I throw it in their trash can. But if the trash can is full, then I bring it home for sure.

Default Junk Mail Disposal at Mailstations

I take my junk mail home & tear it up and put it in my garbage can at home. I am not interested in having my personal information robbed and/or some creep going through those mail station garbage cans just waiting to steal my identity or casing my house to possibly rob it. It DOES happen here in the “Bubble.”

Putting animal waste in the postal cans was a NO-NO when we had recycling in place. Now that ALL waste in being collected AND being burned, who cares from which receptable dog poop is being collected...postal cans or residence trash??? Get a life people!! Who cares???

Oh heck no. That would have been the responsible thing to do. 🤪😂

Default Trash

It seems to me that the reason they are there is to prevent people from throwing their junk mail on the ground. But I have seen people take trash out of their car and golf cart and put it in the can

If they are not for junk mail, then remove them and save money. Nobody ever told me not to put junk mail in them. I will continue to use those trash cans for junk mail, like most logical people do.

If they can get my name and address from a mailing list, I don't care if they go through the trash to find it because when they send me mail it will receive the same treatment.

I think you missed the point that the trash was pouring out of the can and stacked on top of it.

👍🏻🇺🇦Finally someone has good answer & correct. There’s so many things in the world that are bad & somebody complaining about junk mail in a trash can at the PO. If you can’t put trash in one of multiple trash cans on-site then why are they there?

We have seen the people who remove the trash struggle to remove bags heavy with garbage, mostly unwanted mail. I don't see how it is such a hardship to take your junk mail home.

You are absolutely correct. Or they could simply put a complete list, on the can, of acceptable trash that is allowed in the trash can.

These cans are for junk mail only, not car trash, not house hold garbage, not Micky D wrappers, and especially not for dog poop.

I think that is a very horrible idea! Horrible because I've never thought of it before. Thanks for the horrible, yet brilliant idea!

Well now that you mention it if the Sun had a living breathing editor none of this would happen.

Back when we still had recycling in The Villages instead of incineration, "they," and I don't know who that is, said it was more responsible to take your junk mail home and recycle it. That's all I know.
