Default Manager at O'Shea's needs management training!

Went to O'Shea's yesterday for some football and wings. Had a great time, however, hubby went to the men's room and said it was very bad. Won't go into details. He thought the manager should be notified since it was so discussing. He did in a nice manner and the manager cussed him and threw him out!!
Luckily we were with another couple and they paid our bill. Manager told hubby he would take care of it, but didn't. I have no doubt he would have stuck the server with it and blamed it on hubby. What a jerk!!

To me it seems that more and more "managers" were not raised by parents and mentors who told them "the customer is always right" or something like "Thank you for letting me know....I'll take care of it as soon as I can".

Good workers aren't made on the job. They are raised by parents and taught by teachers who model a caring attitude and work ethic.

Could you give more details? Like, what was said and how the ejection came about? It just seems unbelievable that someone would say Excuse me, but your restroom needs cleaning and the manager throw him out on the spot. Surely there was more discourse.

I know the manager or owner monitors TOTV. Maybe we could hear his side too?

Friend was close by and witnessed the incident. Hubby thought the manager would appreciaate being notified of the poor condition of the restroom. The manager responded by cussing hubby out and told him to leave immediately. He told hubby to "go back up north were you came from." We are full time residents. Nice opinion he has of our snowbirds who patronize his establishment!

I have to agree with Ilovetv. No "people" skills.

"Go back up north where you came from"..... That pretty much explains the problem.

Fortunately, most workers don't display that attitude and are glad to be employed gainfully.

I completely agree. And many professionals of all levels are now being given courses on how to interact with others. My daughter teaches a course to third year medical students on bedside manners. And that includes American expectations.

Manners of any kind are still important. They teach you to behave as if you had some sense, even if you don't.

O'Shea's will be the next Havana.

First, let me say, congratulations to Havana on turning it around. Their new plan, singing staff, is interesting. More importantly, the food is now excellent. Good job!

Back to O'Shea's, impossible to enjoy food in a dirty atmosphere. If the bathroom is dirty I will bet the kitchen is a disaster. Owner has management problems in other places too.

There are two sides to every story and then there is the truth. I hope the manager sees these postings and gives us his side...until then I remain open to judgement. I have gone to O'Sheas on numerous occasions and have had pleasant experiences in all phases of the establishment. No rudeness, good food, great prices, entertainment, and the ladies room was clean.

My thoughts exactly! I have to admit it's laughable now. " I got thrown out of a bar, not for fighting, but for complaining about the restroom!"

Been there once. No need to go back.
Mediocre food and terrible service.
Waitress did a great job though.
