Five years ago Fenney was just a vision with no promises, now it is the most populous village in The Villages. It amazes me how the Fenney bashing continues driven I assume by ignorance. For your information there are more than a dozen restaurants within 5 miles of Fenney and many of the south of 44 villages.

I’ve been here from the start which was 2017 another post how we are deprived out here, nobody promised me anything perhaps it was because this is my 5th village home. There are all kinds of prices for homes out here and EXPENSIVE compared to what , please let us know . At 81 I’m quite capable of getting in my car and driving 10 minutes to stores and restaurants and still going to 466 and farther north for restaurants 4 or 5 times a week and coming back to my so called EXPENSIVE home to enjoy all the beautiful water , nature trails and the loop ending up at EDNA’S on the GREEN , you see no matter how many restaurants or stored they open here I’ll never trap myself in a 10 minute bubble from my home like many do

Hope you can drive for many more years.

My concern is when driving is not advisable, and none of us are getting any younger, kind of far to go food shopping.

As noted in the paper today Publix is now hiring trainees for the Magnolia location that is scheduled to open during the first quarter of 2021. I don't think 4 or 5 months will age us to the point that we cannot go food shopping and at least 4 villages are already golf car accessible to the Lake Deaton Plaza. You don't have to worry about us, all is good down here.

I’ll move intonthe lofts or one of the other apartment developments that the family has seen there will be a market for, who are healthy enough to live without assistance but no longer wish to drive

Plenty of options outside the bubble. We're closer to Leesburg via 470 than Spanish Springs. Disney Springs is less than an hour away.

"the kids" don't determing what goes into the shopping areas....they merely have the land and offer the availability. Most businesses do not open in new areas until population is sufficient to support them....except Publix... The bank and golf cart store are owned by "the kids" so that is why they are being built first. In past the country clubs had food service, so they acted as the first resturants, but with the lesser interest in championship golf, the country clubs are going to be fewer and slower south of 44.

Not at all worried about the folks living down south, just that for us we wanted to be closer to 27/441.

The other reason for being up North is our home sold much faster than we expected and did not have the time to wait on a new build.

i understand wanting to be near 27/441. i love the variety of businesses there, & the 'feel' of surrounding Village communities. it's the other end of town, but i don't mind, am still learning new wonderful things about my 'home.'

We have good friends living in Feeney and love it. Would be nice to live closer to the trails but we had 4 weeks to buy a house and pack so building was not in the cards.

enjoy your house
