Thanks, Joe
Joe, just another thank you for a well written and informative message. It is comforting to know that there are a few watchdogs out there. My wife and I are coming to TV for the month of May with the intention to buy. We love the Villages concept, but not the CDD's without any homeowner voice. We all may be becoming senior citizens but that doesn't make us stupid. Keep up the oversight!

I speak for all that know Viilager07 with the fact that she is not prone to "inane drivel" as you call it. She is and has always been an accurate provider of good information. You "Midge538, whoever you are, owe her an apology or is this more of the meaness that is permeating TOTV and driving some to opt out
IMHO Handie

Midge, obviously you are not a regular visitor to totv for if you were, you would know that Villages07 is perhaps one of the most informative and intelligent posters on this forum. She is totally fact based and has offered to many of us the real insights into the workings of TV. I agree with Handie, you owe her a formal apology on this forum. Thank you in advance.

Thank you all for your positive support and comments. I must admit I was a bit taken aback by Midge's reaction to my post. My intent was to praise Mr Gorman and offer some constructive criticism on how to improve the newsletter and the POA's standing within the community.
No apology necessary....everyone is entitled to their opinions. But, it is reassuring to hear from others that I wasn't out of line. I try to be very careful in how I word posts on this site.... even then, comments can be misconstrued.

I have to agree with many of the folks in the previous posts regarding 07 and Joe Gorman.
07, who is always the voice of reason, and well spoken.... is correct when she stated how refreshing it was to read a clear ,concise and informative statement from Joe Gorman. She was exactly right in her comment that it was not the usual negative response from the POA . I wish all communications from the POA were less negative. I would be more inclined to read them. There is no doubt in my mind that the POA is a valuable organization, but I find it difficult to negotiate through the negative. "you catch more flies with honey ....." Midge538 I think you may need to rethink your opinion of 07.

"We feel that if there is any potential adverse effect for us, the developer will exercise the same good judgment and concern for the residents that he exhibited in the lawsuit settlement in early 2008 and do what he can to protect this community and its residents. We are hopeful that, if the worst case scenario occurs, the developer will do the right thing for the residents. And, we encourage residents to support the efforts of the developer and the VCCDD to resolve any issues.
Is this the same developer that was sued by residents and settled for $39 Million?? IF it is, why should we have hope that they will do the right thing without another class action lawsuit being filed? I really don't understand that logic. |

I so agree with Villages07 -my most credible and balanced source of information on this site. Most of my new friends and colleagues agree. Her point is well taken and was my reaction as well. I appreciated Joe Gorman's post and believe that if the POA presented a more balanced and nuanced perspective that they would gain support We do need information and healthy debate.

Well, maybe this is none of my business because, at this point, we have not bought in TV. But I do follow this bond stuff. I have also been reading stuff, for more than a year, that V'07 writes here. She always takes the time to answer questions and to address issues by citing specifics. She is never snide. So while I do not know anything about what it is like to actually live in TV, and I sure as heck do not begin to understand this bond stuff, I know a little bit about the tone in which posts are written. But I also know that things can be misunderstood sometimes. And I can be half-way decent at reading between the lines. And I gotta tellya, V'07 has no hidden agenda. I just thought she was thanking Mr. Gorman for the insight and also saying that more communication like that would be welcome. And then giving a little suggestion as to how to communicate better to the Villagers who have been turned off in the past by the POA newsletter for whatever reason. I took what she said as, "Here, let me help you so that more Villagers will read what you have to say, and the lines of communication will open to more people and we can all make TV better together." Nothing wrong with telling them that. From what I can piece together about the POA, it seems like they could be quite valuable in the balance of information about TV. But if you want to get information out there and under consideration, it's not just what you say but how you say it. Or I guess it is more about how it is perceived by the target audience. Keep that audience in mind, always, if you want to get your message through. (And that's how I translated what V'07 said.) Boomer Last edited by Boomer; 03-22-2009 at 05:18 PM. |

Mr. Gorman,
Thanks for the input. Clarity at a time when others panic is always welcome. |
