The "developer?" Does the "developer" manage movie theaters now? I thought these movie theaters were individually managed. Why is it that whenever someone is inconvenienced, it is the "developer's" responsibility? If someone wishes to watch a movie that bad, there are plenty of other theaters outside of the Villages. Get in a car and drive a few minutes. Interact with folks outside of the bubble once in a while and it might do some folks good. |

Someone way upthread mentioned that they thought MVP might move into the Rialto? I just got notice last night that MVP has been acquired by Genesis. I have no idea what that means for the future. I take classes at the Spanish Springs locale and will be anxious to hear our instructors take….if they’re allowed to speculate.

Perhaps a better use for the vacant theaters would be places where Villagers can go for WHINE and cheese? Interesting how many go on cruises or switch from winter homes to summer homes, but when inconvenienced by having to get in their cars and traveling a few minutes outside of the Villages bubble for entertainment, it is a reason to sue the developer. Anyone else want cheese with their Whine?

No idea who owns the two closed theaters but if the owner thought they could make money opening them to show movies do not all think they would reopen?

But at least the 1st page of the thread was read, unlike many who just jump into the middle. |

The developer said, at last public meeting, there aren’t enough good movies
available. He has no plans to reopen the other two places. |

![]() ![]() ![]() I suspect the problem is more a lack of moviegoers. The blockbuster movies will return----Hollywood producers have been reluctant to spend $100 million+ to make a movie that people wouldn't go see due to COVID. |
