Dunno about that.
Back in Minnesota you learned right quick that if a furnace is going to break down it's going to be in the middle of January on a night where the ol' mercury is down there in the minus-35 degree below zero range. Same can probably be said for a Florida AC. Stuff is more apt to break when the machinery is working hard, such as a sweltering August afternoon with the heat index at up around 110 or so, than it is if it is only running once or twice a day.
I'd far rather have it checked than to have to have an "emergency" fix which is going to cost multiples of any inspection service call.
