Your choice. We do every 6 months, spring for .AC check up and new filter, fall for heating system. Have used them for over 20 years. No problems. Yes, they are very busy and there is a long lead time. Schedule ahead.

We use them and have ours serviced twice a year. They arrive on time.

Called Munns but didn't want to wait weeks. Called Chuck Farrell's Ac & Heating (352) 633-9364 kind of a local group they came fast and were reasonable

While it's possible not to get same day service in an emergency if you have a priority plan, usually you do get same or next day service especially if your system is down in the hot season. We use Sunsine and they are very good. As some mentioned the service can only accomplish basic system checks and cleaning. There is no "magic" to anticipate a failure 100% of the time. Yearly or every 6 months is always a debate but if your unit is maintained meaning yearly check-ups and cleaning the condensate line monthly and changing the filters then yearly check-ups are fine.

Default Service Star

We used Service Star Cooling and Heating. Fast, courteous, short lead time. And they live in The Villages. Explained everything, with no pressure to buy anything extra.

Yes, there is a serious lack of employees and good employees in all fields it appears.

And when a company is short on employees it is hard on those that remain since they have to pickup the additional load. I hope everyone considers that when they get good polite and professional service and make sure to express your appreciation verbally, in reviews, and in a tip to the employee. Be really sure to let the company know that the employee you interacted with was good.

Default Another recommendation

If you want to try another company to service your unit, I give the highest recommendation to Sunshine.

Our house came with a Carrier unit which requires it to be serviced annually by a technician approved by Carrier to maintain the warranty. Under these circumstances, my expectation of the quality of the service was not high. Quite to the contrary, the tech from Sunshine arrived on time and did the work in a thorough manner, explaining what he was doing and what I needed to do between the annual service such as flushing the drain line.

The best part came three months later when the blower motor failed. Sunshine had a tech at our house early the next morning. As Carrier required the motor be replaced with one it supplies, the tech installed a different brand as a temporary fix. When the new motor arrived from Carrier the next week, he returned and swapped out the temporary motor. The work was neatly done and he left the area cleaner than when he arrived.

Perhaps, we were given priority due to the fact that we have a service contract. Whatever the reason, Sunshine exceeded all our expectations for showing up on time; doing quality work; providing emergency services; and cleaning up the work area.

Regardless who you use, I recommend swapping out the Made In China capacitor with one made in the USA. These usually are the first things to fail.

I recommend AMRAD

Motor-Run Capacitors – The Leading Manufacturer of Motor-Run Capacitors

Also have them replace the contactor every 5 years or so. It is very cheap to do.

And if you want to extend the life of your compressor, look into

EasyStart 364 (3-ton) Single Phase Soft Starter for Air Conditioners – Micro-Air, Inc..

It reduces inrush current and provides more fault checks for compressor protection.

Very satisfied with Munn's. We have the annual service plan, which is for 2 service calls a year. One visit is for heat, the other A/C. The benefit is that you get a discount by signing up for the annual plan, with no need to worry about long lead times...each visit is set up in advance. Pay at time of service, and you get priority for emergency service.
