Sunny, I know you don't believe this but anyone can go into a rec center and use the bathroom. They can even walk around the center and enjoy the decor. They cannot play an activity or join a club (barring a support group or a private event rented by a Villager). If you want, just anyone at the rec centers or call the recreation department.

Personally, there is no way I would walk or step with bare feet in ANY public bathroom. If it is a bathroom used by toddlers or seniors, I will balance myself -- too many misses and too many wet toilet seats and floors. I worry less about a lawn worker using the bathroom than I do many Villagers.

I'm sorry that you have so little compassion for others. I'm sorry your world is upset by humans having human needs.

Maybe those who object could set up a Port-A-Potty in their backyards with a discrete sign in front for these workers.

How mean-spirited can you get.
Call me names if you want, but it's not just the workers we hire at our homes or that TV hires to maintain community property.

It's also the people in and around and passing thru TV who Seniors Against Crime protects against, and it's also the workers being discussed on the thread titled "Liability is on you" who are not bonded (maybe due to criminal record) and who are not insured.

There are lots of workers and people just passing thru who stop in to use the rec center pool bathrooms and dressing rooms who have not been background checked as TV employees or our own service people have been checked out. There was also a home invasion in Duval a couple of months ago, discussed at length on two prior threads here.

I think it could be called "mean spirited" to ridicule those of us who have seen danger or misuse of facilities, and warn others against it.

To pee or not to pee, that is the question.

Had the o.p. been in the restroom prior to these men? Did she know anyone who had? If not, then it could be that someone else had left if "filthy". Why was the rec department not called immediately with the name of the landscaping company to make a formal complaint? TOTV is great for airing frustrations but normally does not result in meaningful change.

Just my thoughts on it.

for those of you who are ignorant on how construction goes, you have had dozens of men use your plumbing while your house was being built. All of those white pvc pipes you see coming out of a slab make convenient urinals and not all of the workers have deadly aim. The nastiest job to have is be the poor smoe who has to break the cap on the sewer line before it's hooked up to the sewage system.

I am sure they both had to go very bad as they don't just come in the pool area very often. We don't say anything when these same people call the police or have actually assisted in catching criminals....who do live in The Villages. There are rules and then there is common sense and politeness. Lets not worry so much relax and enjoy the beautiful pools these landscapers are human beings working hard to make an honest living....they are not out slaves they are our equals...
