The OP was offering a heads up to someone who may not have known the law. I thank all posters who share information about many topics. I believe most people previously knew of this law. Now, anyone who read what the OP had to offer and did not know of the law is informed. This is one of the many benefits of TOTV.

I think this GREAT!!! Everyone who speeds next to a patrol car should get a ticket. Too many officers are killed each year by cars going too fast and right next to the patrol car.

We had two police officers killed on the highway in LI NY in the last year or so while they had someone stoped on the highway. Around here the speed limit is 55 mph but people drive at least 70mph, way to fast.

This was all over the news last year or year before in ORlando. I believe it was Altamonte Springs that was ticketing all the vehicles for not moving over. They had channel 9 news set up to watch it so everyone would be aware of the law.
Heck it is courtesy to move over and yield the area to the LEO's One of the first thing I learned when I got my CDL Class A back in 93. Always move over for Law Enforcement on the side of the road or for vehicles setting on the side WHEN it is safe to do so. If you can not move over then reduce the speed as stated. You never know when someone will pop out. It should be enforced alot more than it is. The thing I can not understand is why do people slow down when they see a LEO driving down the road. Say the speed limit is 55, all the sudden people are doing 55 hit the brakes and now your doing like 45 or 40. Can not figure it out. If they are driving down the road and you are doing the speed limit why hit the brakes. ![]() |
