The Trane XV model is a high end, multi-speed compressor unit. He also said that the unit needs a computer board, which sounds like a proprietary part that cannot be purchased from anyone except the manufacturer. I doubt that any HVAC company would have one of these top-of-the-line models sitting around and available to swap out a computer board, because most people do not buy these expensive units. It is probably a special order. Hence, he needs to wait for the part.
Understand now. Was not following his other thread.

When I took my pre settlement walk through the motor in the A/C broke. A replacement motor was obtained from another unit in a home under construction. Maybe your vendor can take the part from a new unit to repair yours.

You need to call around, see if another contractor can help you. $80 service call is worth getting a second opinion

Maybe they were just told "we need a part that's on back order"...
Sorry, but that's why God invented the mouth. If I was told I had to wait for months or weeks for any part, especially for a not functioning A/C in Florida my first question would be "WHAT PART ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?" I believe I would be entitled to know even if I had to pay for it myself. WORST CASE s/he wouldn't be able to locate it best case they might or someone here might be able to help..

… more than ONE month after posting their saga, with vague info provided for TOTVrs to possible help. OMG. Glad you’re running but you apparently made it worse for yourself….

Portable unit we purchased is not helping much at all. No answers and nowhere to go from here. Beyond the point of screaming!
I bought the 10 year extended warranty.
We all know what happened to Frank DeSantis.
I'm 5 years in and I just hope they honor that warranty if needed.

If your warranty is through JB then you will be good. Several AC dealers in area sell that one. Mine was included with install.
