Portable unit we purchased is not helping much at all. No answers and nowhere to go from here. Beyond the point of screaming!
Have a contractor install a new outside compressor unit. Should be easy drop in replacement

Good contractor should fight with mfg for warrenty replacement since parts not available to repair

Not exactly. That would be more than half of the cost of the entire system, and a complete recharging of the refrigerant. The compressor motor alone costs more than $1,000.

If that is what it takes to get up and running, then the warranty co should cover the cost of replacement .... If they are a reputable company.

It sounds like the warranty is through the manufacturer, Trane, and they have a defective part issue. I agree that they should honor the warranty, but if they need to replace hundreds of units around the world, they are probably not going to do it. A local contractor would have no influence over a major manufacturer like Trane.

Sounds like Trane doesn't stand behind their product.

I have been waiting for a new Kitchen Aid or GE refrigerator for nearly a year after my top of the line, six year old Whirlpool refrigerator compressor failed. I purchased a no name refrigerator they had in the warehouse for $400.00 to hold me over until a new Kitchen Aid or GE are available. As of last week, Lowes and Home Depot are not taking refrigerator orders and have no idea when either brand will be available.

And once again we have bad information on this website. The backlog of ships has been reduced to almost nothing. Ships are not significantly waiting to be unloaded anymore. There is still a slowdown with truckers getting goods inland.

Just because something was true months ago does not mean the situation has not improved. In the case of ship unloading the improvement has been dramatic

I think Lowes and Home Depot were lying to you.

I just started the process of ordering an entire kitchen-appliance bundle, and the estimated delivery time is September 8, and they're accepting the order if I click the button.

There still are supply chain issues from Communist China.

More than two years later, the country’s ongoing controls are still weighing down its economy and stalling global supply chains.

Why not just buy what is available at the time? I don't know what you ordered, but do you really think that a 5-door refrigerator with a TV screen will make you happier than a 3-door one? Waiting a year for a refrigerator? I would never do that.

Ocean freight costs are coming down dramatically, wonder why the media ignores this.

The "borrowed" motor could not be the permanent fix as the manufacturer insists that the replacement motor come directly from the factory as it records the serial number for warranty purposes.
Not in our case with the special part. Manufacturer dealers nationwide do not have it. Have to wait, but there is an end date.
