I would advise against that.

The only thing 'they' can tell you (if 'they' are smart)...is that the signs speak for themselves.

I think the smarter course of action would be for those who use it, to continue to do so, keep quiet and wait until such time (if it happens) until access is physically blocked...or folks start getting tickets.

Sleeping dogs and all that.

That's my $.02 on it.

Duke has great lawyers, under no circumstances will they tell people "go ahead use your golf carts across our property." They will close it off one day a year or when necessary to avoid adverse possession.

I agree, from now on I treat this like "fight club."

Why the sign and not a new fence?

Duke has never installed a fence and then taken it down. The only wall that was put up was where the gate now sits at Paradise. The wall was forced to be taken down within a few days of it being put up. Villagers protested in Spanish Springs that year and the wall came down.

Well...The wall is still there and it has a reading device that allows Villagers in and out and everyone else is allowed out if they are driving a golf cart except for those who live on the outside with street legal carts.

Yes, in 2012 it was fenced.

The wall isn't still there.

topspinmo: Perhaps the no trespassing sign is the first step? Posters may not be aware that this act is to make it clear as to the status of people as either invitees or trespassers. By virtue of the fact that people have been using this trail for years without such a notice posted Duke energy maybe in the position of acting as if they accepted golf cart drivers as invitees. So they decide for liability purposes to post the no trespassing sign. If the abuse continues then perhaps they will go to the next step and erect a gate.

I really can't blame them because Energy Companies are a huge target for lawsuits. Let me give you an actual case. A thief was trying to extract copper from a utility station got electrified lost two arms and a jury awarded him millions

Posters here are demanding rights they do not really have due to their personal circumstances. How far should one go to accommodate? We all make choices and if we do not want to live with them then decisions have to be made.

when I first got here I was at a deli when I guy approached me and asked if I lived in TV. I said yes and he literally laughed in my face and said I bought in Stonecrest got a better deal, etc and still got the villages lifestyle. I'll admit that conversation stuck in my crawl.

A poster mentioned that villagers are welcome to Stonecrest. Of course who is going to turn down business. Stonecrest people have access to anything in the village commercial district..its public Its the remainder that's in question and paid for exclusively by residents of TV and that's were the rub comes in

Resident pay premium prices for homes and incur monthly fees to live here. they made their choice and as the community grows so does the crowding. Come September morning that reality is going to begin to hit us in the face again.

The card reader. The card reader. This limits access "like" a wall.

Duh.

I think the signs are there to keep people ON the path and away from the other property. The fenced in area should be safe, unless someone climbs the fence. The other property is easy to get to, but I doubt they want anyone near it because of the power station.

Question What the Heck

What the heck. We drove our cart to Lowe's yesterday, over the cart path. There were no signs and nothing has changed? Where are the signs everybody is talking about. Gate worked fine.

This is the path between Aldies and Walmart, not the one on the path on the way to Lowes.

no trespassing is not a keep on the path sign. tickets are not the usual result, arrests are.

There you have it. As thoughtful an explanation as we are going to get. Fore!

If they wanted to allow open access, wouldn't Duke have posted "Keep on the Path" signs rather than "No Trespassing" signs?
