Darn it, I know better! But sometimes I can't resist being drawn away from the topic. Me bad.
I thought it was pretty cool of the big M to let your post stay given the timing.

I love the people complaining how bad traffic is on 441. I drive it (from the Brownwood area) at least every other day to the area of Lowe's. All I can say is the complainers must have never lived in a major metropolitan area if they think 441 is bad, traffic wise. And as far as the cart path goes...get over it. Get in your car and go to Lowe's or Walmart.

Just like we don't grant them access to the pools, rec centers, or executive golf courses which are all maintained by the fees you pay to the CDD.
The only problem with your premis is that all the main roads thru TV's are public and as such the paths that run along side of them are not illegal for non-villagers to drive their carts on.

Also why is Stonecrest even being mentioned in this topic again. Since the Paradise Gate was put up they are almost non-existent in the traffic on TV's paths. Almost all of the Stonecrest traffic is only over the 15 year old Duke property path to Walmart, Aldi's, Bealls Plaza, and Lowes. You really need to find a new scapegoat for your other issues.

Assuming that all setback, lot clearance, golf cart path width, and safety issues could be addressed, Duke could possibly enter into a right of way agreement with the villages to have the villages install and maintain a golf cart path in this area. This might be the best situation, as it would relieve Duke of liability concerns, and The Villages would just be adding to their already large inventory of golf cart paths.

And what do you do with The Stonecrest people that use this same Duke path that abuts to one of their gates on the back south side of Walmart. Also since they had been in discussions with Walmart (who supports the use) and Duke to continue this capability over the past year.

All of the stores and restaurants in this immediate area benefit from primarily Stonecrest, Orange Blossum, and some Spanish Springs area carts. It would be nice to have a right of way reciprocal agreement as all residents and stores benefit a great deal. Duke is the only one that doesn't profit on it. But they keep all their power customers happy. And the current path since upgraded is very wide and all wild brush has been removed. It used to be a heavily wooded area with occasional homeless people in there. They have all since relocated because the area is too open now. Now it is a pretty decent path and Duke and Mr. Brown have both allowed this use now for 15 years with no complaints or liability issues.

I don't know but If I was a current customer of Duke I would call them especially if a golf cart was my only means of transportation. I would want to know exactly how to interpret the signs that were recently posted along the golf trail. Note: At one time we did own a manufactured home on the historical side of TV and was a good customer of Duke Energy.

snipped
What was your analysis that allowed you to reach that conclusion? I have never seen nor heard of any authority other than TV building and maintaining them.

Interesting observation. Could be some credence in this theory if both ends of the path were not posted. Do you know if the no trespass signs are at both the Walmart and Aldi's ends (i.e. a total of 4 signs)?

There were no signs posted at the Aldi end. The signs started about 50 feet into the path after leaving Aldi. I will try to report on the Walmart end. Although I did observe many carts going in both directions, I wanted to give it at least a day before I crossed as I did not have to go to Walmart yesterday and did not want to be a test case. I do have a yearning for ice cream

(Chocolate Truffle
It’s every chocolate-lover’s dream! Savor the creamy, delicious taste of Breyers® dark chocolate ice cream and pieces of dark chocolate truffles in every bite)

...and since walmart carries this flavor and has the best price by far, I may have to risk arrest today.

Wrong. The MPPs are owned by the CDDs and are maintained with fees paid to the CDDs by Villages residents. "Illegal" is your term, not mine.

I have no dog in this fight, but did anyone get permission first, to " clean up" the path? Bringing heavy equipment doesn't seem right. As in many states, there may even a law that if you use land for a number of years it becomes a right of way.
