Our house furnishing$ cost about $18K about 3 years ago, a combination of City furniture, Babbettes, and Wayfair. Everyone was helpful, but then again, the huge migration hadn't started yet amid a pandemic and supply chain issues.

Most likely you are one of many phone calls about furniture issues which the phone person has to put up with each day when there is nothing that the store can do for you at the moment. The mobile customer service staff is limited due to the nature of hourly workers in rural central FL with higher wages 45 min S in Orlando

And if furniture doesn't arrive regularly, but irregularly, salaries and floor plan payments must get paid regularly, so there is a large pressure on getting money paid to pay suppliers and workers, while waiting for the next shipment.

just remember, TV people are retired, the working world people outside the bubble, not so much, in fact, they are still on the hamster wheel

have patience and enjoy what is positive.

Default Family furniture

The best furniture around here is family furniture. Family owned good quality furniture and stands behind there furniture. Good service. Have bought from them for over 10 years. QUOTE=NewtoFL;2080844]We just moved in to a new build that came with a new furniture package. I had a few question about whether we could exchange some if it. They said no. Ok. Fine. The person I spoke with was not helpful at all. She did ask when we were going to pay for the furniture. I replied that we would pay for it ($21,000) when we came down for closing. She said the balance must be paid within 72 hours of closing. No problem. We got an email reminding us of that fact.

The day of closing we went to the main store in Leesburg and paid for the furnitue. We looked around at some furniture. I was surprised at how expensive some of the low quality furniture was.

Now my point. We tried to work our electric reclining loveseat and it won’t work. I called for service but they can’t get out here until after we have gone back up north. I asked if they had any suggestions of something to try or ideas what might be wrong. The bored unhelpful relied “not really”. I am just not impressed with Babettes at all. We won’t be buying anything else from them.[/QUOTE]

I love Babette’s as did my parents. Bought from them several times & would again! We always went to Leesburg store.

Babettes was ok. Had a great sales person but called back 3 weeks later to shop for more and she was no longer with the company. Went to Baer's Furniture, Winter Garden, was worth the trip

Can't say enough great things about Babette's. They went out of their way to locate a dining room set we had seen years ago. Thier customer service is outstanding. Highly recommend them.

Default Babettes

Wife and did a lot of shopping around looking for a dining room set we both could agree on. Our salesperson told us right up front it would be close to 2 months before we would get the set we both loved. She was extremely friendly and helpful. When our furniture arrived almost 2 months to the date it was delivered with care and set up by two very professional and friendly guys. After they left I noticed some very very small dots On top of the table I hadn’t noticed until after they left. Other than that a more beautiful set than I remembered. I called the store and spoke with our salesperson directly and she apologized and transferred me to someone that would take care of it. Unfortunately it would be almost another month before someone could come out to look at the table. Before they came out we got a call (about a week earlier than promised) for a window of when they would be here. The gentleman that came out was also very professional and friendly. When he was done the table was perfect. No idea what the spots were, Babettes told me not to touch them or try and clean them with anything but a soft cloth and water. Love Babettes. I have had 2 very bad experiences shopping at City Furniture, never again.

Exactly, just bad attitudes. I suppose it’s no fun to be in the furniture business right now.

I agree with the OP. Terrible experience with Babette’s and will never shop there again. Bought two very expensive (supposedly) high quality power recliners and they have given us problems from day 1. Had them out so many times I though of them as family. The service technician though he was a furniture god. Never fixed the problem. They wear you down. Any other company would have refunded the money under a lemon law but not Babette’s. They break it, you buy it! Get your furniture elsewhere and save yourself the headaches!

Apparently, The Villages didn't buy the furniture, and you didn't want it either. Babettes just didn't want to pick up the furniture.
I thought the package of furniture price was added to the price of the house and paid at closing then the furniture company was paid from the proceeds of the sale. I must have totally misunderstood or forgot (more likely) how it was explained, it’s been 12 years.🥴

Kent Furniture. Thanks for the recommendation. I like the looks of their furniture. Going to take a trip over.
