Thanks for the clarification. And if you really want tooo much info on anoles go here. Anole Annals – Your source for the latest on Anolis lizards. Most of the reading is above my head but there are great pics of anoles and a bit of humor too.

Not a difficult question. They change their colors to blend in with their background environment because they are PREDATORS (like dinosaurs) that eat dumb insects that stumble by and don't see them. We are lucky that they are not 2 ft tall and weigh 40 lbs or more humans might be missing limbs.

No, they are not chameleons...

The different colors represent different origins (native vs invasive species). You would have know that if you actually read the thread...
