I think it's pathetic because their picture online in the news has quickly become a pillory of mockery and ridicule.

Imagine if every drunk hanging out at the bars on the squares got their picture posted online when they make a public jacka$$ of themselves, and they have a family and have to earn a living. My parents told me growing up, "it takes a lifetime to form your reputation, and only a minute to destroy it".

Posting their pictures online is not necessary since this was voluntary and not predatory behavior.

Both were totally out of line, and to me, appear from the story to be very drunk. I know I can't prove that but so it seems to a practiced eye.

On line ridicule and mockery is the modern version of being put in the stocks in town square, only we don't wait for a trial. It is painful to them and their family, it is beyond embarrassing, and, please God, it may be their needed "bottom" and wake up call from above.

I hope so, and I too will say prayers for them this evening for God's grace to let them go forward.

My thoughts exactly. I hate to admit to being sexist, but when a man does this I don't find it so surprising. I don't expect women, an apparently well-educated woman, to be off acting the fool with a man who can do her absolutely no good.

But I bet most of us have done some ill-conceived, impulsive things that we sincerely regret later.
I totally get that the initial reaction is to poke fun at this lascivious situation.
But this woman obviously needs compassionate and God's grace to move forward.

This online version of putting people in stocks in the town square without a trial is also disburbing because of the big time celebrities and politicians whom the media allow to be immune from public scorn, by selectively publishing nothing about THEM and their gross misconduct/corruption.

And I agree about the sexism mentioned by missypie and patty55....that it's often "admirable" when an old guy gets a young bimbo-trophy. Again, the media pretty much decides who gets trashed and who does not. Too often we see mug shots of an arrested welfare mother of ten, but nobody EVER mentions, much less shows, the males who are supposed to be behaving like fathers to the offspring.

I liked "the other" Villages news site until I saw these photos. I hope they see this and take them down. It's not like this couple is "Wanted" for a crime against others.

I felt sorry for her. It's bad enough to have a problem, but to have it plastered all over a relatively small community, and to give her address and post photos, will be difficult to overcome.

its hard to believe there are posters on here looking up addresses and facebook pages just to poke their noses in where it doesnt belong. go pray for the sick and needy and leave these people alone! seems they are enjoying life a tad more than some on here!

I don't think it is unbelievable or inconceivable to gather facts. It is a subject of interest to the people who posted. Which is a LOT of people...including you.


It isn't nosy to try to understand what is happening when something troubling happens. It is human nature to be questioning. This is the first time I have read anything exactly like this happening here in The Villages. It has had many, many, posts. Sometimes it helps to try to see the real person behind the headlines. To find out more can be nosy or it can cause people to take pause and catch a glimpse of the person behind the issue.
