I'm going with it's because that's how they naturally grow AND it would cost a fortune to constantly trim them. And there is no need to trim them, since it is quite easy to pick up the fronds when they fall...

I remember a big thunderstorm a while back. My wife and I were driving somewhere after the storm and she commented about all of the dead fronds along the side of the road. I told her, not to worry, they'd be gone in a day or so...

The very next day we were on the same road. Not a single dead frond to be found...

You want to pay for the fleet of "cherry pickers" need to do that?

A safety hazard? Damage vehicles? It's not like an oak tree falling over on a car...

You must have miss the hundreds (?) of posts he's made, over the past year, complaining about EVERYTHING TV has to offer...

Yes, you still need a bucket truck to trim them, especially as they grow taller. Even one "layer" of beard 30 feet up needs a bucket truck.

Yes, they go up like a fuse when caught on fire. They are like flaming torches.

To me, having spent decades in So Cal, they look like ugly weeds that present a huge fire hazard. They are like big dead dandelions on the landscape.

I was 5 years old when the "charm" of exotic and sunny paradises filled with palm trees ended and the "charm" of big, 20 to 80 foot weeds began. Some people love 'em, some hate 'em, and some don't care at all. I'm in between not caring at all and hating them.
When is the last time one of them caught fire in TV?

I've NEVER heard of that happening...

Pro tip: FL is not CA...

Cost to clean up is exponentially less than trimming several times per year.

Not for some people. They can dig and dig until they find something to be unhappy about.

Then after they move, they lurk on a web site dedicated to living in the community that they left, just looking for any opportunity to throw in a negative comment. Yes, I'm making a prediction

I lived in NC for 15 years. Yes they are red necks, they know it ,and they respect that. Much more than I can say about this place. It really is a shame this place is positively beautiful and the people who keep bitching without knowing why really do ruin it. All I have ever done on here was put out a comment based on observations and what I get back is just pure bs. I will miss the place.
