I don't now who you are.... But I think I love you... If you are at the pool and the people have their music too loud, you will find we are all very nice people and don't wish to disturb anyone. Please, tell the person involved. Everyone can have a good time at the pool. There is no need for baseball bats or the battle of the iPods.

Thank you for this post!

Hmmm...music at the pool could cause me to break out into spontaneous dancing. I sometimes find myself dancing with my cart at Sweetbay. Mind you, the music has to be right for this to happen.
Don't make me dance. You might not want to see it. I'm not twenty anymore and I'm not skinny..

Talking What the heck?

Am I right in reading that someone is going to a pool and playing music which
may violate those who have gone to the pool to rest and relax? What are the controls? Can I go to the pool, bring my wireless speakers and play loud
rock? Oops, why not? Oh it may violate some swimmers music interest. I once heard a great person say they,"believed in censorship as long as they could be the censor". This is what should rule music at the pool. I am all in favor as long as I am the one who decides what is played and how loud.
No one agrees to my point..Then music should not be allowed. I personally
love music and have all sorts of music in our home including Itunes, wireless
speakers, travel speakers for the car, the best earphones, etc. However,
would not be inclined to force others to accept my interests.

Lori, posts like this take on a life of their own. No fear, in a short while this topic will fade into obscurity and you can go back to being anonymous and not notorious at the pool.

Unhappy Amazed

I am amazed that someone actually believes they have the right and are entitled to play music in a "public place" without regrard to the other person.
I am amazed that anyone would support such a serious violation to the other
person's right to peace and quiet. To compare it to laughing, or someone
talking loud because of another person's hearing challenge does not even deserve an answer. I guess when there are over 90,000 people in a community it will attract different attitudes but this one does not even pass the test of reasonableness.

You would have thrown it in the pool?? Seriously? Playing music may be considered rude, but I think throwing his music box into the pool might be breaking the law. It sure isn't worth making the trip to Bushnell in cuffs because you considered someone rude.

I haven't been on here for awhile and I'm very surprised by your response. This is so unlike you. You never came off as violent before and in fact I know several people who know you and they have never mentioned that you have a violent side. What's up?

There is in fact music in public places. There is music at the squares (much like at the pool), there is music in the stores, and there is music at many of the pools.

If you go to a park, people play their music all the time.

Why the violence for music at a pool that yu haven't been too? And after everyone is trying to work it out?

This is a very nice pool. I've been there several times and the people are wonderful. Why woul d ANYONE suggest violence????

Nope. Once a thread is started, it takes on a life of its own. Threads morph and take on life, and have been know to start neighborhood wars, and I think maybe even a sink hole.
