But the Boss wanted to play pickleball... Odd, she just paid my life insurance premiums two weeks ago... Hmmm...

I popped a handful of Motrin, and I've spent the afternoon with and ice bag on my heel and the foot elevated. No sign or bruising or swelling (which is good), but it hurts like a sumbich when I first get up to walk...

I had to cancel our golf game this afternoon...

I could have sworn someone said that Pickelball was better than golf...

Hopefully, I'll be able to play golf when my daughter and son in law arrive tomorrow evening. We have a tee-time at Evans Prairie on Wednesday...

Well, at least I'll be able to take the cart...
Best wishes for a quick recovery. Good reminder for the rest of us to warm up and stretch.

Along with softball, soccer, tennis, water skiing, basketball, beach volleyball, etc…. We are friggin old and injury prone. That’s why I stick to lap swimming, bike riding, golf, corn hole, and yard work. I’d rather give stuff up and be able to keep active than try to re-live my glory days and wind up on the shelf.

since it popped you may have torn the ligament off the heel bone which could be diagnosed by X-ray or MRI. This might be helped by an orthotic boot or insert long term to promote healing. See an ortho or podiatrist.

I did the same a few years back, playing indoor box lacrosse. Sounded just like when tearing up old carpet - that ripping sound. Pretty much last play of the game as well. Was barely able to drive home.

Took quite awhile to heal, only surprise to me was that they wanted me to start stretching exercises right away. Of course I'm sure you know that. Mine was a "decide between surgery or extended rehab" kind of tear, and I opted for rehab. Don't recall exact timing, but it seemingly took forever to heal with no pain. I wish you good luck and hope it was a minor partial tear, if such a thing exists.

JM, I feel for you, and best wishes for a good recovery. .
Sports injuries are the worst, cause of the memory of younger days

but on the good side, at least you can bill for your own services!

and as far as the TOTV medical advice, everyone's an expert with experiences. . . its the nice part of TOTV as there are so many posters all with great life experiences, and all mean well. .

He knows what to do medically. I understand that he treats this type of thing. The doctor is just sharing his unfortunate experience.

It's all ball bearings nowadays. Now you prepare that Fetzer valve with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads, and I'm gonna need 'bout ten quarts of anti-freeze, preferably Prestone. No, no make that Quaker State.
