Sounds like re-inventing the wheel.

To me it's all garbage. I put it out and the G’man can sort it, smoke it or turn it into a white picket fence, I give a rip. I get it to the street, job done.

Look at it this way, if you sort garbage you are working for a manufacturing company, for free, providing a raw material for a product that you will have to pay for. Of course you can not have a $130 section of plastic privacy fence in the Villages. That’s just my opinion.

My question is what is really going to be done with the recycled trash. When I lived in the Keys I followed the truck to the transfer station one time and they dumped it right in with the other trash.Granted that was in a different local but if you saw how tight it was down there with trash you may understand. So don't worry about how they are going handle it but what are they going to do with it.Until anything becomes profitable nothing will happen and no improvements will take place. The fight against global warm show them how to profit and it will stop, electric cars, show the gov. how collect road use tax and they will be on the road tommarrow. Economics is the answer to everything in this day and age. Before you answer this ,and don't be to critical, think about it. Has TV said what will be done with the trash and where is the processing plant and what is the profit offset

To comment on the original point of the topic, the story in The Daily Sun says:

But the local stores say they’re getting ready and putting the products on the shelves. An array of local merchants, including Ace Hardware stores at both La Plaza Grande and Southern Trace (which have 1,200 boxes each), Wal-Mart locations in The Villages and Summerfield, Publix stores throughout The Villages, Sweetbay in Lake Sumter Landing, Winn-Dixie at La Plaza Grande, Home Depot in Lady Lake, as well as Lowe’s Home Improvement in Lady Lake, have stocked the clear plastic bags that are needed to participate in the curbside-recycling program. Other local businesses may add the product.

Does that mean that they will get the 7 cents per bag from these merchants too? This makes the original assertion from the employee ridiculous, to use a kind word.

The way I read the paper it said "a clear trash bag" and then went on to talk about the Glad bags. It was not "clear" to me that the Glad bag was a requirement. In NH where recycling is done you must buy the special bag at an inflated price but part if the purchase price goes to pay for the recycling. If we are going to be paying (1.47) for the recycling, we should be able to use ANY suitable clear bag available. It would be interesting to try and see if they leave your bag if it doesn't say Glad on it.

It would really tick me off if I went to all the trouble of getting things ready for the recycling (washing, ripping off labels, carrying separately to curb, etc.) and found out they just dumped the stuff next to the other garbage. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Cheers

I thought recycling was voluntary. So I have to pay whether I recycle or not???? I am in Sumter county, South of 466. What if I don't care to recycle and just let the prisoners sort through my garbage?????? Why should I pay for something I don't use????

I also saw this page when I searched. It shows a white bag not a clear bag. Besides the UPC Code provided by TV Sun is not a real UPC.

The comment from the employee referenced only PUBLIX as I posted. Who knows perhaps TV has separate deals with them as well. Perhaps not but anything is possible right ?

What I can't understand and have asked TV Sun is why the UPC Code doesn't show up. They claim it's the correct code.

I saw the clear Glad Bags at Walmart a month ago. Did not buy any because I am not sure if I will use them. Anyway waiting for a sale.

The GLAD bags are a standard clear bag used for recycling...no special deal with The Villages just a lack of communication....the old "hurry up and wait" deal. You can't even find these bags on the internet (as of yesterday)..all the suppliers are sold out but that would only be temporary....you'll be shelling out $2.50 for 12 bags again real soon!

I agree with The Shadow... I'll go to the hassle of seperating my cans into a different bag... but that's as far as I'll go. I'll get it to the curb and I'll have them in a bag where they can tell they are cans... let them take it from there and they can do whatever they want with them.

Please show me the link that has the clear bags as part of the manufacturers website. There is none yet as I have claimed. Yes they have 13 gallon white bags, but as for the products there site claims to have shows none (0) FOR CLEAR 13 GALLON BAGS.

Many of you have said you've seen these bags already at other stores, however they DO NOT show as part of CLOROX OR GLAD and I have yet to find a link to these exact bags anywhere. I have seen links to white but not CLEAR.

Regardless of this thread and those who don't believe this employee something just doesn't seem right. I don't deny those who claim to have seen clear bags, I just can't understand why the code and the site doesn't show them as some of you claim to have seen them.

Here's a link of what I found for recycling:http:

OK, I can't find them so how about showing link to them or a SKU from Home Depot?
