Default Another golf cart accident yesterday.

I witness a repeat of another golf cart accident that seems to happen much to often. It happened at an area along Buena Aires where the primary cart path goes into a steep decline and then a sharp incline and which passes a golf cart tunnel 90 degrees to the right.
A golf cart came from the tunnel without stopping and exited the tunnel immediately in front of a cart passing thru. The passing thru driver hit his brakes and turned to the right hoping to avoid the accident. Sadly the driver hit the raised curbing flipping his cart on it's side and ejecting the driver. The driver had some serious skin injuries, but refused any 911 calls after his cart was righted on it's wheels.

I wonder if the cart driver blowing thru the stop sign stopped to help or continued on?

No its not. I dont live in The Villages but will within a year. I have been down there many times and it is a drinking community. To assume people may be drunk in a golf cart or car is not a stretch.

I hope to see full enforcement of DWI laws.

Hi Gpsma: Welcome to The Villages. To get you started off on the right foot let me offer an alternative view. A truth is sometimes like a shadow hanging over us of those things we do not or cannot see. Some people are attracted to a drinking community but not all. In my view more people here abstain or are very limited in drinking alcohol.

Please do not leave an impression with others that we are all boozers when it is confined to the few. For one thing our blood pressure can't take much caffeine let allow alcohol

Personal Best Regards:

Ok, why would we assume the driver that had the right of way was drinking. I think we're missing the big picture here. IT WAS THE DRIVER THAT DIDNT STOP AT THE STOP SIGN, you know the AH's we run into everyday. Let's put blame where if belongs "the Law breaker" not the victim !

Wow. Not a good way to start. But, I am fully confident that after a vert short time of living here you will learn what the people here are really like.

Instead of hoping for things to change, it is a lot easier to accept things as they are and learn to deal with them.

We have lived in TV for two weeks and we like it more each day.

I KNEW you would. So glad you like it. I get to be a bigger fan every day we are here. My enjoyment is genuine. So blessed to live here in our fourth quarter.

Both drivers are at fault, imo. Who drives past a tunnel, not able to see if a cart is approaching the tunnel exit, and doesn't slow down? It seems commonsense to me that at any intersection where all drivers cannot see the other potential traffic clearly, both should slow to a crawl before continuing. When I pass through these intersections, I always slow down to where I could make an emergency stop within a few feet. It's called "defensive driving".

Strange how you envision our great community. I don't see drinking a problem here. Bad drivers, maybe? You need to change to a happy outlook when you come to TV. Enjoy the good we have to offer.

Glad no serious injuries.

not as a statement. So it is not an "assumption", but a queried possibility.

On the other hand you did make an assumption....wrongfully I might add.
