Why I read this I do not know. I guess it’s like the train wreck. You just can’t turn away.

No Snowbirds, no Villages Wake up every morning and thank God we come down and subsidize your lifestyle because you cannot afford it. Can you say ‘single wide’? |

And the same thing i tell my granddaughters: NEVER allow anyone to follow you. EVER. Stand your ground and whip out that phone.
Sorry you had to suffer this person.

NOTHING, driving wise in a Car or Golf Cart is ever going to change, never, ever, never ever!
Get over it and just drive defensively and enjoy the good stuff around us! |

That is what I was taught in driving school, always give yourself an out. It’s harder on a bicycle because you can’t easily pick up speed. And we all gage what the other driver is going to do, so when they are erratic, this guy stopped, one assumes how he is going to react, not start up and hit you, for example.

Yeah, I sure can.
I was raised in a single-wide in Fort Myers Beach in the 1950's and it was a great place to grow up. I have many wonderful memories of my life there. |

So sorry you encountered such an A$$Hole he is the future of the Villages morons with toys showing totally how stupid they are. On the happy side most people here are #1 good Christian people
#2 responsible people with high standards of behavior #3 home owners with pride in their homes #4 people that enjoy all The Villages has to offer And then we must contend with the druggies , drunks, show-offs and other riff-raff that land here either as vacationers , airBnB , or outsiders from neighboring communities etc. but thats life in America today. |

I believe "way back" when we built our home here, something like that did exist. I believe the max. speed for a G.C. was 19 mph, and, if you bought from the G.C. store owned by the Villages, we were told all their carts were mechanically altered for that top speed. At the time the sales person said that, we found it rather odd. Thinking, when you purchase an automobile, the dealer does not "fix it" so it will not do the maximum speed shown on the speedometer; it's the buyer's individual decision to speed, or not to speed. But I do believe the Villages made an effort to control G.C. speed. Of course it is ridiculous to think no one is able to increase the speed of a cart... reminds me of the argument that we can control criminals having access to firearms by making laws. There may STILL be a G.C. speed limit in the Villages, but you would never know it.
