This guy was released after posting $10,000 bond, yet the two having sex are being held without bond in the Sumter County detention center.

Why is the bond so low (10K) for this type of offense?

I sure agree about the bond being too low.

Why is there even a bond? The sex people had no bond. I guess STD's are more dangerous than bullets.

My reasoning for having his picture in the newspaper . just maybe this guy would be shamed and shunned and it might cause him to move some place away from here. So they take away his gun, next time it could be a knife. JMO.

CR466 public road. I would imagine a lot of stuff goes on in day. Especially with all traffic, speeders, and inpatient drivers. probably now big deal in NYC, stray bullets flying every where and only problem when they hit someone.

IMO does make you not want to honk at people that cut you off, pull out in front of you, set at stop lights texting when the light has turned green for an eternity, run through stop signs when it's not their turn, pull in front of you then slam the brakes the turn, and the list goes on. You never know if some crazed idiot now days will shoot you, ball bat you, or drag you of the car and start wheeling on you! I only see this getting worse, but my glass is always half empty!

Why. Guns went off in both cases! Unless one was shooting Blanks?

I rode bikes for over 40 years and one of the constant concerns was being rear-ended by a 4-wheeler. Any biker that passes a car and hits his brakes hard is just a total moron. They won't survive long doing that kind of thing here considering the average age and reflex time, in addition to hard-nosed attitude, of many Villagers. When he gets wiped out, it will be improving the gene pool. There are too many good and generous bikers to let this idiot ruin the reputation of bikers in general. Many have had intensive safety training and are very aware that they are vulnerable.

So this is what America's Friendliest Home Town looks like to the rest of the world - the media are going to have a field day with this one - first sex and now road rage. It's been a long hot summer, but this is ridiculous.
one does not need to state the serious-ness it is implied or given via the incident.

And it most certainly is not the way TV looks to America....in other cities with far larger crime blotters than the TV, are they defined by what happened yesterday in the sheriff's department? I think not.

Remember the news folks are looking for revenue and ratings. They want people to believe the world is a terrible place. It is not. It is a wonderful place with most of it's inhabitants doing and living in it right.

It is too bad that our society dwells on, magnifies and elevates the very few that are nothing at all like the rest of us!

You are right. And pretty soon someone is going to try to tell me to feel sorry for these people. I don't.

In most cases his permit will be suspended and weapons seized.

While living in Memphis, TN many years ago my son age 15 pulled from a side street and apparently a biker didn't like it and passed him by then circled around the block and came up to him and shot at his fender thankfully missing the kids in the car and secondly the block. My son worried about being yelled at did not say anything until the next morning. I called the sheriff who inspected the very large hole in my son's car left fender and stated it appeared to be from a magnum but since my son waited too much time had elapsed to do anything.

It would be naive' to believe that with over a 100,000 population and a good percentage of that population being renters that you are not going to get some very bad types. Having said that it is apparent from comments gleaned from this forum that some newbies actually believe they are moving to some kind of paradise and their expectations based on those comments support that notion.
Clearly the overcrowding here has a direct and negative affect on many people. This is a continual scenario in Florida where there is a constant tension between those who seek managed growth and those who want to sell every piece of land that can accommodate building something.
The competing voices for amenities, shopping, traffic flow, etc makes the quality of life that much less. Its a fact its actual
