Exactly the point, the land use for density is being re-worded and changed to allow for more homes per acre depending on where the land is. Rezoning and annexing allows for them to set and or change the laws and rules on the books to make it happen.

Walmart for instance knew coming in they had shortfalls within the property, they then apply for variances to get what they need to keep moving forward. None of the residents pay any attention to these changes and they just keep happening.

That is why there is a specific need to get involved with the Town and Village Commissioners to stop approving these changes and this high density market will slow down or stop.

If there aren't resident's in the meetings to speak up then they believe all is good and that the residents are ok with it.

Nice truthful article yesterday on line about mobile home parks. Purchasing a new home on rented property is not a good idea as rent will go up yearly @ 4 to 6 percent. Borrow $200,000 @ 8% = 1285 per mo. + $600. mo. rent starting @ goes up 5% yr. + taxes & services. Some years down the road a large corp. buys the park then doubles the rent. Its happening all over the country.

Why not run for city office? There should be enough Villagers in Lady Lake to give you a solid boost.

8500 communities?? That can't be correct.

Agree, some like to complain about growth when land was sold around them.

Lake County does not allow for this type of development for what it is, so the idea is to rezone and annex the land to circumvent the system to do it anyway...that is the issue.

3, 5, 10 acre lots with reasonable modest homes yes, I'll be for that all day long, 800 manufactured homes and 34 other buildings to go with it, I'm not so sure.

This is happening all around the Town of Lady Lake. Just look at the Zoning WEB Site and see the number of requests for rezoning and annexations being requested all of them for changing agricultural land over to medium density housing. They are putting 100 homes on five acre lots thats where the other 10,000 people are going right in the 466 area.

Walmart is trying to squeeze in also and are taking down large mature canopy oak trees that are near 200 years old. Do we really need another Walmart?, there are already 3 in a five mile radius.
You lose a little credibility with each post you make. Walmart was denied their request to take down trees.

If I came in and put a High School in your front yard without you having prior knowledge would you open your arms to it?

There are those who like and enjoy urban and those who like and enjoy rural. What right does someone have to come in and force urban on me without my permission.

Are you saying we can only vote on what others think we should have?
It’s already too crowded. Some people like living amongst the hordes but I’m not one of them. Time to sell!

You seem to know a lot about these people, even though they aren't here yet - clogging up our town squares, monopolising doctors' appointments (odd, for young people), smoking...

Are you sure they're not your relatives? I hope you would tell us if you were just trying to use us to stop your cousins moving in to the area.

The problem you have is even if your post finds those in agreement with you, is the ones that write on forums like this aren’t likely to be the ones going down and standing up in front of the board. Just saying.

Default It’s Over

Ocala will approve this in a heartbeat. What’s the point?

I know a lot about this as I have been living in it and experiencing it. I recently went to get a medical appointment and waited three weeks for it, I need an MRI and can’t get it till end of February due to high volume patient load.

My 10 minute ride to the grocery store now takes 30 minutes at times. Trying to get a table to eat out is also next to impossible.

If no one spoke up about the trees on the Walmart plan they would have voted to remove them without question

It sounds like the ship has already sailed in your area, and a few more thousand won't make much of a difference.

Bingo! Oops... lost the post... Bingo on "Urban Sprawl." Orlando is a perfect local example. Too much of a "good thing"...
